Zone Sensitive?
This mission had incomplete data for Wilma Peterson, and when I had it for Claire Childress, the patrol was in Talos. I suspect it might change depending upon the zone the contact is in. If so, it would be easy enough to add a parameter in to take care of that. --StarGeek 17:23, 21 April 2006 (PDT)
Start of mission?
Red Tomax places the Prevent Freakshow from stealing parts mission as the start of the story arc, but I'm not sure if the arc clue popped up at the end of that mission or this one. --StarGeek 17:37, 21 April 2006 (PDT)
- The Prevent Freakshow mission does not give a story arc clue at its end, but it was still offered to my charcter even though I had outleveled the contact. So I'm folding it in with the arc. --StarGeek 12:14, 12 June 2006 (PDT)
Starting mission my have different names
I've gone through two characters and the first mission may show up with 2 different titles, the one posted and Prevent the Freakshow from making off with the electronics. --StarGeek 12:14, 12 June 2006 (PDT)
Why a template
Moved from previous discussion Template talk:Mission Common Prevent Freakshow from stealing parts when that mission was folded into the arc
I'm confused. Why is this a template?
- It's a template so we can type in certain common missions, badge mission, story arcs, etc, just one time, rather than retyping it for each and every contact that gets that mission. Any changes that need to be done can be done in one place rather than going to every contact that has that mission and making sure that they're all the same.
- A good example is the various introduction mission, like seeing David Wincott, Stephanie Peebles, and the many Security Chiefs. These missions can come from many different contacts and it would be extremely difficult to edit in the information for every possible contact. It's much easier to add in, for example, {{Mission Hollows}} whenever we figure out a contact that sends you off to see David Wincott.
- In this specific example, click back to the article, and then click the What links here link in the toolbox on the left. You'll see that two different contacts have this same mission. The truth is, at least according to Red Tomax (google cache of his site on this arc), there are six contacts that hand out this mission.
- Make sure you check out the Help link on the left. What I've typed here is just a more extended, verbose (maybe even less clear), version of what's there.
- Note: This mission is probably part of The Hand of Iron story arc, so I'll be folding it into that a little later today.
