Overview
Flight unlocks one of the most useful attacks: Air Superiority. Fly as a travel power is one of the safest ways to travel.
Powers
Hover
Very slow version of fly. Costs little endurance though and is very useful in combat. Slotting Hover with 3 Flight Speed Single-Origin Enhancements allows you to fly at slightly less than walking speeds. Hover and Fly also grant psuedo Knockback protection. You may still get knocked back and spin around, but since you're flying you don't have to worry about jumping back up.
Air Superiority
Moderate damage, foe knockdown and -fly. Very useful in bringing down flying foes, and slotted right can literally juggle foes to death. It has very good accuracy on it's own and good chance to knockdown.
Fly
Safest way to travel, though initially the slowest and most expensive. Unslotted fly will drain your endurance in about 5 minutes.
Group Fly
Effective Fly for you and your Team members. Same endurance usage but at slow speeds, and a major hit to Accuracy. Not recommended for use in combat.
Flight Speed
This section only applies to the speed of Fly. Hover and Group Fly use different calculations.[1]
Calculating Flight Speed
Feet Per Second
(21.00 FPS base) + ((1 + sum of enhancements) * (18.18 FPS + (LVL * 0.21)))
Miles Per Hour
(14.32 MPH base) + ((1 + sum of enhancements) * (12.4 MPH + (LVL * 0.143)))
Flight Speeds
Speed at Level 14
Enhancements | FPS | MPH |
---|---|---|
None | 42.12 | 28.72 |
1 Flight DO | 45.65 | 31.13 |
Speed at Level 22
Enhancements | FPS | MPH |
---|---|---|
None | 43.80 | 29.87 |
1 Flight SO | 51.39 | 35.04 |
2 Flight SO | 58.98 | 40.22 |
3 Flight SO | 65.46 | 44.63 |
4 Flight SO | 66.60 | 45.41 |
Speed at Level 50
Enhancements | FPS | MPH |
---|---|---|
None | 49.68 | 33.87 |

3 Flight SO | 76.93 | 52.44 |
4 Flight SO | 78.36 | 53.42 |
Note: you cannot reach the flight speed cap through slotting alone.
