After a discussion on the Paragon Wiki, it seems clear that the "Praetorian" badge pages list badges you can get as a goldsider, plus badges you can get after picking Hero or Villain, but only in the latter case if it doesn't matter which one you pick. This seems an extremely unhelpful thing to show, especially now we have First Ward and Night Ward enabling Praetorians to go to 40 as goldsiders (or beyond if they are especially dedicated. Hence I am editing all such pages to reflect which badges goldsiders can get ''as goldsiders''. [[User:Thunderforce|Thunderforce]] ([[User talk:Thunderforce|talk]]) 13:33, 11 May 2020 (UTC) | |||

Impossible badges
Does anyone know why this lists a bunch of badges Praetorians can't get, like the Dark Astoria badge? I see it says "those that are earnable by any Praetorian character, regardless of their choice to become a Hero or a Villain", but that seems an odd decision - why not just list the badges earnable by actual Praetorians? - If memory serves, the logic behind this was to show only the badges that would be neutral to all Praetorians, assuming they chose to continue leveling up and leave Praetoria without going through the Rift Enclosure, thus remaining a "True Praetorian." If they chose to leave via the Rift Enclosure, they would then follow the badge lists for Heroes and Villains, as appropriate. However, I never took a Praetorian character that route to test it. Is it not possible for Praetorians who never left via the Rift Enclosure to earn the Dark Astoria day job badge? User:Blondeshell/Sig 22:00, 5 May 2020 (UTC)
- No, because they can't get there - goldsiders who stay goldsiders can't leave Praetoria / Pocket D / the Wards by any means at all. I really can't explain the list on this article other than that it's Praetorian badges plus the union of Hero/Villain badges, and that doesn't seem useful to me.
