I just noticed the the coloring for this template doesn't render well when used within a {{tl|divbox}} with magenta selected, as on [[Belladonna Vetrano (Contact)]]. I'd imagine there's other backgrounds where it fails as well. Example:
{{divbox|magenta|Example|Hello, {{Character}}. This is an example.}}
Maybe it's just because I'm colorblind, but the word Character is completely unreadable to me there. I would suggest that we do away with color formatting for this template. I really don't think it ''needs'' to be specially styled. But if we do really need to keep some sort of special styling, I suggest we do this: <span style="text-decoration: none; border-bottom: 1px dotted;" title="The character's name will appear here">Character</span>. Thus the above would become:
{{divbox|magenta|Example|3=Hello, <span style="text-decoration: none; border-bottom: 1px dotted;" title="The character's name will appear here">Character</span>. This is an example.}}
Which I think is much more readable. Plus the tooltip explains why we're saying "Character" there, which we don't really explain anywhere (even if it does seem obvious). Since this is such a widely used template, I figured I should ask for feedback before changing it. Whatever we decide on, the same should also get applied to {{tl|Boss Name}} and {{tl|Contact}}. -- [[User:Sekoia|Sekoia]] 18:30, 1 June 2012 (UTC) |

Formatting
- Suggestion: Make this stand out from normal text somehow. I dunno. Color it. Italicize. The lot - Skarmory The PG 18:21, 4 February 2008 (UTC)
- I'd prefer very subtle formatting, if any -- I'm personally not opposed to it standing out a small amount, but I don't think it's should stand out a lot. Italics seem too much. Perhaps a color, as long as it's not too much of a contrast (for example, not red). Just curious, why do you think it needs to stand out? -- Sekoia 20:43, 4 February 2008 (UTC)
