Overview

Speed is one of the Power Pools available to all characters. These powers allow you to commit great feats of speed. Most notably Super Speed, one of the four main Travel Powers.

Players are able to pick Flurry, Hasten, and Super Speed starting from level 4 in any order without any prerequisite. Whirlwind and Burnout are level 14 power choices, and require two other Speed Powers before selection.

Power Table

The following table shows which powers are available and at what level:

Power Level Effect
Flurry 4 Melee, Moderate Damage (Smashing), Foe Disorient
Hasten 4 Self +Recharge
Super Speed 4 Toggle: Self +Speed
Burnout 14 Self +Recharge
Whirlwind 14 Toggle: PBAoE, Foe Knockback

Powers

The following are powers in the Speed powerset.

Burnout

Burnout allows you to instantly recharge all of your Primary and Secondary powers. Burnout is very expensive in terms of endurance, and reduces your maximum endurance slightly for 60 seconds after use. You must be at least level 14 and have two other Speed Powers before selecting Burnout.

SuperSpeed SuperSpeed.png Super Speed

You can run at super-human speeds! While running at such speeds, you are a blur, and many foes will not even notice you as you speed past them. If you attack a target while this power is on, you will temporarily be slowed to normal speed.

Historical

This section contains information that no longer applies to the current version of Homecoming: City of Heroes/Villains. It is provided for historical purposes.

  • Issue 21 reduced the first three powers (Flurry, Hasten, Super Speed) from levels 6, 6, and 14 respectively, to each unlocking at level 4. Issue 21 also reduced the fourth power (Whirlwind) to level 14, and introduced Burnout at level 14.
