In addition to having its one and only source 404'd, I think there's a little conjecture thrown in here as well. From what I understand of information officially released to the public, it's only been verified that Blasters will be receiving the powerset. It's all but guaranteed that Defenders and Corruptors will get it as well, but we don't technically know that, at least according to my memory. Also, is there any verification that the set will in fact be called "Dual Pistols" and that this isn't just the name the devs have been using for it in public? The same can be said for Demon Summoning, to be honest. Why not just "Demons" to fit the same naming convention of all the other Mastermind primaries? --GuyPerfect 05:53, 28 November 2009 (UTC)
That is official information from hero con. There are plenty of videos from the event on youtube. So 1) We *DO* "technically" know it, and 2) It has been verified.-- Captainmoodswing 06:32, 28 November 2009 (UTC)
- It was confirmed at HeroCon to be a primary set for Blasters and Corruptors and a secondary set for Defenders. It was called "Dual Pistols" at HeroCon, and Demon Summoning called "Demon Summoning", though names are always fuzzy during beta (and even after - I'm looking at you Gadgets/Devices.) All of this information can be found in the HeroCon info thread, which at 815 posts (as of now) is daunting, but the first post contains all the information in a neat wrap-up.
- Haven't been paying attention to new stuff, have ya Guy? ;) ~ User:Aggelakis/Sig1 06:39, 28 November 2009 (UTC)
Open beta?
Isn't Dual Pistols in open beta now? Information can be put in. :D Sera404 23:35, 19 February 2010 (UTC)
- Correct. Have at it. --GuyPerfect 00:06, 20 February 2010 (UTC)
Going Rogue / Issue 17
Dual Pistols and Demon Summoning both require the purchase of Going Rogue. They are available prior to Going Rogue's release if you pre-purchase Going Rogue's regular edition. If you don't pre-purchase the regular edition, you can also get them at release date through the Complete Edition. They are not freely available in Issue 17, regardless. ~ User:Aggelakis/Sig1 00:24, 20 February 2010 (UTC)
- They are being included with Issue 17 regardless of whether or not you have to purchase Going Rogue to use them. This does not make them Going Rogue features. --GuyPerfect 22:35, 20 February 2010 (UTC)
- Correct. There will be players in the game who will be using the Dual Pistols as soon as I17 goes live. Some will have access, some will not. In that way the set is no different than, for example, Ninja Run - at least until Going Rogue goes live. I haven't heard anything yet on whether players who do not purchase GR will have access to the new sets when creating new heroes or villains. --Eabrace 22:55, 20 February 2010 (UTC)
- They are gated by pre-purchasing Going Rogue, therefore the flag should be Going Rogue, not I17, since they are not a freely available powerset. Players who do not pre-purchase Going Rogue do not get DP or DS early, and players who do not purchase Going Rogue do not get DP or DS when Going Rogue releases officially. ~ User:Aggelakis/Sig1 01:56, 21 February 2010 (UTC)
- I'm looking at it more from the side of "should we start adding the info?" And from that perspective, since it's in open beta and set to go live with I17, the answer is "yes". As far as whether it sould be flagged as "Going Rogue" content or "Issue 17" content? I'm neutral. I do think it's a little misleading to state that it's specifically GR content and leave people scratching their heads wondering why they got ganked in I17 PvP by something that's supposed to be GR content, but I also see the argument for flagging it specifically as GR. --Eabrace 02:38, 21 February 2010 (UTC)
- Um... The GR template tag says "This information is about features that will be implemented in Going Rogue...". The GR tag is factually incorrect. The powerset is being implemented in I17. When, how, and to whom it's available to are irrelevant insofar as the GR and I17 tags are concerned, as they address implementation only. The article should be tagged I17, though an additional note indicating GR-related availability is prudent. -- Sekoia 05:48, 21 February 2010 (UTC)
- Make a note in the overview that pre-purchase of Going Rogue allows access to DP/DS prior to release. Voila, problem solved very easily. ~ User:Aggelakis/Sig1 02:52, 21 February 2010 (UTC)
- PS, I really don't care when info gets added, as long as it's not closed beta-only info. :p ~ User:Aggelakis/Sig1 02:53, 21 February 2010 (UTC)
The tag at the top of the page says that the info "is subject to change before release." This is not true, as the set will be finalized in Issue 17. I motion for an executive decision on this. --GuyPerfect 04:41, 22 February 2010 (UTC)
