Resistance Inspirations in I7

Sturdy, Rugged, and Robust gain teleportation resistance in I7. The new text says (name) also protects the you from enemy Teleportation (typo as printed). The effects box says RES Teleport --StarGeek 15:16, 6 May 2006 (PDT)

Reorganization of section 6.

I think we should move 6.3 (Wentworth/Blackmarket) inspiration information to 6.1 and move the other two subheadings down. That would have a better flow as the Wentworth/Blackmarket inspirations are in the game and the others in that section are not. Are there any other Event based inspies? If so, they should be added in Section 5 with Winter Events. Otherwise consider collapsing 5 & 6 to one section. --Ti Taz 13:41, 11 January 2008 (UTC)

Except the Wentworth/Blackmarket inspiration are not in the game. Check the history on them, not one has ever been sold in all this time. From what I understand, they appeared when the market was first introduced on test, but they were changed into temp powers before going live. User:StarGeek/sig 20:51, 19 January 2008 (UTC)

Gift of Power

I just noticed that the Gift of Power inspirations give a variable buff based on the number of teammates nearby. Do any of the other presents do that? Weatherby Goode 04:50, 20 December 2008 (UTC)

Wow... you're right... Not per teammate, but per person within range, including yourself (20' in most cases). I just popped one in WW, with 3 people near me and I gained a 200% damage bonus. With a gift of life, it gave me the heal number 3 times. I don't think it worked like that previously, but then, I never tested it in a group like that before. Tested Damage and Health (currently waiting for the Elude crash) and it's the same, bonus is per person in 20' radius, counting yourself. User:StarGeek/sig 06:51, 20 December 2008 (UTC)

Drop Rates

I have a teeny obsession with inspirations, and I've been looking at the drop rates for quite a while. So far, these are my ballpark guesses: Medium Inspirations

  • Level 1+: Drop from bosses
  • Level.. 25+?: Drop from Lieutenants.
  • Might drop from minions at some point. Not sure.

Large Inspirations

  • Level 15: Drop from Archvillains
  • Level 30: will drop from Bosses.
  • Do they ever drop from Lieutenants?

Inspiration type: It seems like when you get an inspiration, there's a 3/20 chance each for Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, or Purple, and a 1/20 chance each for Wakie or BreakFree. I'll have to test this by getting a bazillion merits and buying the Random Large Inspirations for 1Merit each.

I have no idea what the % chance for a certain-sized inspiration drop is. I'm pretty sure that being on a team cuts the drop chance, and I'm moderately confident that each person has a chance to get an insp from an enemy, rather than the enemy dropping an insp and it going to a random person.

Well, it's a bit more complex than all that. Based on I7 data, which may not be currently accurate, there 5 different drop tables for inspirations: InspirationsSmallNoMez, InspirationsSmall, InspirationsMedium, InspirationsLarge, and InspirationsAV.
Here's a what the InspirationsLarge table looks like: Edit: full tables below


So that would be a 1 in 314 chance for a Large Restoration to drop, and 30 in 314 (or 9.554%) for a small insight. And this table applies to Bosses of level 28+ and Monsters of level 23+. Underlings, minions, and lieutenants won't drop large inspirations. And, of course, this doesn't apply to the random merit rolls. There are probably new tables for those.

You can't. As stated in the descriptions of the removed inspirations, they've been replaced. There's only one "old style" mez inspiration still available, "Strength of Will", which is purchasable if your side has control of Siren's Call. Slight clarification, "Strength of Will" is purchased from the Security Chief or the Arbiter if you have enough bounty points. Your side doesn't need to have control of the zone. --StarGeek 06:00, 26 July 2010 (UTC)
Actually I don't think they removed them, they just don't drop and the supply ran out. Long after Break Free replaced Resolve I logged into an old character and she actually still had her Resolve inspiration. Just like obsolete costume pieces they are still in the game, there just isn't any way to get one.Ssyrie 16:33, 28 June 2011 (UTC)

Super Inspiration Combine

Do we know for sure that the reason that super inspirations can't combine is a bug and not WAI? User:StarGeek/sig 00:14, 2 June 2011 (UTC)

If super inspirations are only purchasable I would think it's WAI. Otherwise, would you really want to spend 3 AM for 3 SI and then combine them into one SI that only costs 1 AM to purchase? But if super's can drop, then it may be a bug. Ssyrie 16:19, 28 June 2011 (UTC)

Two questions:

  • The two links on the page labeled "pohsyb" are broken.
  • There's no Super Inspiration for Health?  :-(
  • (OK, This one isn't a question.) Also, the description for Sight Beyond Sight says, "+75% ACC, +Perception". I figure it's supposed to say "+75% *ToHit*" but I didn't want to change it if that's what the game text is, even if it's incorrect...

1) I couldn't find where those links orginally went, but I corrected the Arcanaville one on this talk page. It really doesn't matter because that's outdated info and I'll remove it in a second anyway.
2) Nope, there isn't one for Health. Easily verified at the market.
3) Yep, it's supposed to be ToHit. Data like this should be changed to what's "Correct" vs. what it says "in game". I'll change that as well.

Team/Dual Additions, Etc.

Per the discussion here, I have re-arranged the sections a bit, and have added in all the Inspirations that were listed in the aforementioned category. If it looks too long to another's eye, some components of the page can easily be broken out into sub-pages (a la SBEs on the PMarket page). Other comments, issues? Recent Deletions

I deleted all of the Stub Pages that had been created for Inspirations as they had all been consolidated per feedback in a previous talk section that I will be copying to this page shortly. <.< it occurs to me as I'm adding these in, that we have just the inspirations page for the normal insps... someone had already started the dual and team ones as separate pages though... should we be compacting these into only a couple pages or keep them separate? I made the Inspirations page include all of the new types of Insps I could come up with considering I didn't have game access at the time... and have since changed what few articles linked to the Stubbed out pages. Is there any need to keep those stub pages at this point? And by extension, this category? —Thirty7 Talk-Icon.jpg 04:46, 9 April 2012 (UTC)

Timing of inspirations

I measured an Ultimate at 3 minutes - used it on a level 41 Mastermind on 23-May-2012. I see a couple of others that aren't listed with durations - will poke at those as well. Busybody 14:36, 23 May 2012 (UTC)

Ultimate inspiration

Regarding the ultimate, if used on a controller/dominator with pets (or any character with patron pets), does it increase their level, or only if summoned while Ultimate is in effect? How about mastermind pets? Sera404 02:30, 16 June 2012 (UTC)

From what I've been reading about the Mag trial, the shift for pets happens only if they're summoned while the inspiration is in effect. Using the inspiration after pets have been summoned does not shift them. Blondeshell Sig.png talk / contribs 06:57, 16 June 2012 (UTC)
As far as I am aware, Blondeshell is correct. Pets only check for level when they are created, not every time their owner changes levels. User:Thirty7/Sig 12:25, 16 June 2012 (UTC)
How about Masterminds? They're directly shifted by Supremacy, so I'm not sure if they get the shift bonus after summon or not. --GuyPerfect 13:21, 16 June 2012 (UTC)

I did some testing, and you can read about my finds over here. The short answer is this: Pets cannot, under any circumstances, benefit from Ultimate whatsoever, regardless of whether you use it before or after summoning them. --GuyPerfect 16:00, 16 June 2012 (UTC)

Even further testing reveals that Mastermind Henchmen can be given Ultimates, but Lore pets cannot. --GuyPerfect 20:04, 16 June 2012 (UTC)
After even further testing, I learned that for years I had the wrong idea about Masterminds and Inspirations: they can give them to ANY pet, including temporary summons, and including Ultimate. --GuyPerfect 01:48, 17 June 2012 (UTC)
I did a short test of my own with my dark Defender, and confirmed that Dark Servant can not receive Inspirations of any kind. I assume that will hold true with any other non-Mastermind summoned pet.
