Gate Crasher badge
Regarding this gate, should an article with something in brackets at the end be added? Even if it has the same name as an existing badge, it's still in the game and part of a Master Of requirement. Perhaps Gate Crasher (Trial) or something? Sera404 16:21, 28 March 2012 (UTC)
- My preference would be to add parentheses on both badge pages and have "Gate Crasher Badge" redirect to a disambiguation. I'm quite sure there's a feature in here somewhere - ah yes, under Toolbox - to list what links to a page. The updates would not be too difficult, and that would be the most clear and reasonable thing, I think. -- Kahzi 16:38, 28 March 2012 (UTC)
- My preference would also be to add parentheses on both pages (but I would understand any objection to modifying the existing page given that we might have to revert changes if this gets sorted out in-game). I would suggest the following:
- Gate Crasher Badge (Exploration)
- Gate Crasher Badge (Achievement)

- In the past when there have been name conflicts between a new badge and an existing badge, they've always eventually fixed the issue by renaming one of the badges (and I think they always rename the newer one). So I would prefer to leave the old badge exactly where it is, because it will almost certainly be going back there eventually anyway. I would prefer to put the new badge at "Gate Crasher Badge (Achievement)" temporarily until it gets renamed, and then use {{otheruses4}} on "Gate Crasher Badge" to link to it. (As an aside, adding the parentheses as in "Gate Crasher Badge (Achievement)" is the way we've disambiguated other badges, such as those Category:Removed Architect Entertainment Badges, so that is definitely the format to be used for consistency.) -- Sekoia 18:19, 28 March 2012 (UTC)
- I will second Sekoia on this. We should leave the original Gate Crasher Badge article alone and just worry about renaming the new one. -- Blondeshell 23:01, 28 March 2012 (UTC)
- I agree with Sekoia also. Less work is better. In previous instances, the older badges always kept their names, and the new badges got renamed. Better to just rename the new one. ~ User:Aggelakis/Sig1 00:08, 29 March 2012 (UTC)
- According to Guy, in a comment somewhere, the new badge is getting renamed to Spinebreaker. —Thirty7 05:55, 3 April 2012 (UTC)
- Easy enough to rename the article when it hits live, and remove the otheruses part. :D Sera404 06:11, 3 April 2012 (UTC)
- So what we're really saying here is... the devs need to learn to check the wiki before naming new badges! -- Kahzi 17:12, 3 April 2012 (UTC)
- You'd think that they would check the Wiki before they do most anything considering how easy it is to find... well... everything on here. —Thirty7 08:11, 11 April 2012 (UTC)
