Talk:Mystical Bookshelf

>< it should be noted that like most salvage made items, this is a humongous ripoff. its the equivilanet of 10 mystic bookshelves in the amount of control it produces. it uses the SAME amount of energy that having ten of those would take. it COST MORE then just putting those 10 shelves down. The only advantage to having this, is if it wasn't bugged and allowed you to connect it to the Magic Axis, is that it only would take 1 aux slot instead of 10, which, considering the cost, isn't all that important at the point in the game where you actually have enough to just waste it on one of more of these. --Sleepy Kitty 19:32, 17 December 2006 (PST)
- Actually there are groups around which are more slot starved than prestige starved. It has its niche, like many crafted items, allowing you to squeeze more out of less space. Catwhoorg 20:34, 17 December 2006 (PST)
- o.o have they been farming prestige since last year constantly or something? this really isn't a good item to set up. if they have the prestige, they should be running multi supercomps instead. More prestige and MUCH more energy efficient. (look better too ^^) --Sleepy Kitty 21:07, 17 December 2006 (PST)
- right-O! after a month of occational testing with a couple friends, we couldn't find a case where the crafted aux control items where better than the bought ones. We did find a possible stratagie for them though in the case of a PvP base.. but its a bit of a stretch.. basically using one of these (or another crafted control aux, we used these mystical bookshelves since we had two lieing around), you would set up the smallest control rooms in semi random seeming locations on a very large base plot. Having the small rooms that have limited connections ment you were slot starved so using these made some sense.. The general idea was to have the control rooms in very comfusing to locate areas so that invaders would have a hard time finding the control center to destroy it. Keeping in mind.. you can't set any defenses in the room at this size though..
- A similar strategie for power wasn't feasible btw, since the power stations keep getting larger and larger, and even with 2 power mains of the smallest size and 4 capacitors, you can't really power a base where this stratagie would be usable >< --Sleepy Kitty 08:53, 10 January 2007 (PST)
