City of Heroes Collector's DVD Edition
Overview
Released on November 9th, 2004, this holiday release of City of Heroes was printed on a single DVD-rom.

Hero Gear Kit
Due to community objections of a "special release" of the game so soon after launch, in-game items were also made briefly available through the online purchase of the City of Heroes Hero Gear Kit through the PlayNC Store. The kit was a physical item mailed to the customer, which contained the activation code and extra merchandise from the DVD Collector's Edition, but without the game itself or the box. This kit had limited availability (being part of "Collector's Edition") and has long since sold out. It was sold at Hero Con 2008, and will be available again at Hero Con 2009.
