{{SlashCommandArticle

/ignore and /gignore are features that allow you to restrict a character's (ignore) or player's (gignore) ability to communicate with you.
* ignore places @global_name or the global name associated with character_name on a player's Global Ignore List. This works at the global level and applies to all characters in both accounts.
* A player will not get character-to-character or global-to-global tells, see the global or character messages in character-level or global-level chat channels (such as Broadcast, LFG, etc.), get e-mail, or receive any invitations from the ignored player. In short, you will not receive or see any and all communications from the ignored player.
* Ignored players are not notified that they have been ignored, nor do they receive any notification that you are not receiving their communications. However, if an ignored player sends an invitation to you, the invitation will be denied and the ignored player will receive the following notification: "Could not invite ______, because that player has ignored you!"
* Ignored players can still receive communications and invitations from you.

Ignoring a Character
Note: This slash command functions exactly the same as gignore. Early in the game's life, it was possible to ignore a global name but still receive character-to-character messages, and vice-versa. This is no longer possible.

If you no longer wish to communicate with another character for any reason, you may ignore them.  This command will block them from being able to send you any further messages. To ignore a character, type the following command into the chat line:
Tip: Using playernotelocal could be useful to help you remember why you placed someone on your ignore list.
:/ignore <character name>

This will add the specified character to your ignore list and he or she will remain there until you choose to remove them.  To remove a character from your ignore list, enter this command into the chat line:
:/unignore <character name>

This restricts the following:
Example
:* Character-to-Character /tells.
/ignore SuperSlug
:* <character name>s chat in character-level channels, such as team and local.
/ignore @DarkMollusc

NOTE: This does not restrict sending character-to-character email nor does it restrict @global-to-@global tells or global chat communication.

If you no longer wish to communicate with another player for any reason, you may gignore them.  This command will block them from being able to send you any further global messages.  To ignore a player, type the following command into the chat line:

Slash Command

/ignore character_name or @global_name
Aliases: '/gignore'

Ignore player.

 • /ignore places @global_name or the global name associated with character_name on a player's Global Ignore List. This works at the global level and applies to all characters in both accounts.
 • A player will not get character-to-character or global-to-global tells, see the global or character messages in character-level or global-level chat channels (such as Broadcast, LFG, etc.), get e-mail, or receive any invitations from the ignored player. In short, you will not receive or see any and all communications from the ignored player.
 • Ignored players are not notified that they have been ignored, nor do they receive any notification that you are not receiving their communications. However, if an ignored player sends an invitation to you, the invitation will be denied and the ignored player will receive the following notification: "Could not invite ______, because that player has ignored you!"
 • Ignored players can still receive communications and invitations from you.

Note: This slash command functions exactly the same as /gignore. Early in the game's life, it was possible to ignore a global name but still receive character-to-character messages, and vice-versa. This is no longer possible.

Tip: Using /playernotelocal could be useful to help you remember why you placed someone on your ignore list.

Example

/ignore SuperSlug
/ignore @DarkMollusc
