The City of Heroes Bootleg Edition was a trial account package which was occasionally handed out at conventions where [[NCsoft]] would have a booth, and was also included in the [[City of Heroes Collectible Card Game]] Battle Box Starter Kit. It consisted of a cardboard folder with two CDs and a trial code. It was a trial version of the game. At the time of its use though, trial accounts where identical to normal ones, except that they only granted 14 days of play instead of 30. Unlike most trials, the Bootleg Edition didn't require a full retail code to be applied in order to subscribe and was marked as "Bootleg Edition" on the account management screen instead of just as a [[Trial Account]]. | The City of Heroes Bootleg Edition was a trial account package which was occasionally handed out at conventions where [[NCsoft]] would have a booth, and was also included in the [[City of Heroes Collectible Card Game]] Battle Box Starter Kit.
