Echo: Faultline
Map
Hero Hazard Zone (15-25)

Overview

In issue 8, the Faultline Hazard Zone was given a major overhaul resulting in a vastly different zone, supposedly as a result of a reconstruction effort in a previously completely devastated area. The old zone is available via Ouroboros.

Enemies

Vahzilok - large gangs used to roam the area and usually included one or more lieutenants.

Circle of Thorns - No one was ever sure what the Circle of Thorns was seeking in Faultline but their gangs were as large as the other villains in the zone.

Clockwork - The ruined buildings throughout the zone provided these scavengers with a wealth of metal they could use to construct even more of their members.

Notes

  • In the original zone the reservoir beyond the dam at the southernmost portion of the zone was inaccessible. It is accessible now via a door at the south end of the "Reservoir" neighbourhood. Unlike the corresponding door in Faultline, it is at the very bottom of the chasm before the zone. It is marked on the map in-game.
  • This reservoir was intended for use in the unimplemented Faultline Trial.

Neighborhoods

  • Aftershock (Red - Level 16-19) (Music) - The large central neighborhood of the zone.
  • Dark Canyons (Orange - Level 16-17) (Music) - The neighborhood along the west central side of the zone.
  • Downfall (Orange - Level 14-17) (Music) - The second neighborhood after you enter the north end of the zone.
  • Precipice (Orange - Level 16-19) (Music) - The neighborhood along the east central side of the zone
  • Reservoir (Red - Level 18-19) (Music) - The neighborhood at the south end of the zone, which now includes the entire area beyond the dam.
  • Subduction (Yellow - Level 14-17) (Music) - The first neighborhood as you enter the north end of the zone.

Transfer Points

The Ouroboros teleporter is near the Hazard Zone gate that used to give access to Skyway City at the north end of the zone.

Exploration Badges

Badge
Newsman / Newsgirl (1125.5, -27.2, 1296.0)[Copy]

The Theodore Knight building was home to many Super Groups in the years before the Rikti War.

Badge
Faultless Mystic (-843.5, -407.1, -715.0)[Copy]

Ley Lines are powerful forces of mystical energy that crisscross the planet. Paragon City's proximity to Ley Line crossings makes it a prime location for magical villain supergroups.

Badge
Apex (278.0, 56.8, -2257.0)[Copy]

Apex tracked Dr. Vahzilok down to this location, but interference from the Circle of Thorns prevented him from capturing the mad scientist.

Badge
Forsaken (336.0, -90.9, 3488.0)[Copy]

Once a technological pride and joy of the city of Overbrook, the city's hydroelectric power plant was largely abandoned after the Rikti attack. It now languishes in disrepair.

Badge
Pristine (576.0, -0.0, 4438.5)[Copy]

This area looks very peaceful; the perfect place for a picnic after a day of hiking around the reservoir. A nice safe spot for a bit of walking. You're not afraid of spiders... are you?

Badge
Claim Denied (350.5, -667.9, 198.5)[Copy]

The owner of this building tried to claim he lost the structure due to a fault line, but the insurance company was uncompromising in its definition of an event versus an individual.

Badge
Spare Parts (446.5, -0.0, 1521.0)[Copy]

Large groups of Vahzilok roam this area, day or night. Guided by the depraved Dr. Vahzilok, they defile the very laws of nature with their never ceasing desire for human flesh.

Badge
Dug Too Deep (1151.5, -615.7, -28.5)[Copy]

Though magical runes and protection spells were once used to hide Oranbega from the rest of the world, all that ended with the Rikti War. Now, anyone who finds a physical entrance in the dark canyons may reach the sunken city... if they're brave or foolish enough to do so.

Historical Plaques

The plaques listed below exist in both Echo: Faultline and Faultline. Either zone's version of these monuments may be visited to earn credit towards the respective badges, although the player may find the monuments in Faultline more convenient to visit.

Notes

  • This zone has been in the game for Heroes since Issue 0.
  • Access to this zone for new characters was removed in Issue 8; it was restored in issue 25.
