Overview
Players will find themselves upon the ancient land of Cimerora, where they battle deadly creatures, defend an ancient city, and ultimately come face to face with the enemy of time itself. Throughout this journey, players uncover the mysteries of power and the origins that guide them today.
Cimerora is a peninsula in the ancient Mediterranean that was formerly ruled by Imperious. However, in its more recent ancient history, one of Imperious' men, named Romulus Augustus, usurped power from Imperious and took the throne for himself. With the aid of an unknown dark entity Romulus has summoned ancient beasts, legions of men, and erected a single great fort over the majority of the land where he plans to constantly strike against the gallant Imperious.

You have traveled back in time to the Roman era. Here is the origins of all you have come to understand as heroic and villainous.
The loyal legions of Cimerora have prevailed in battle against an enemy wielding unimaginable power.
The Temple of Phoebas offers refuge to wives and widows of Cimeroran soldiers, including those loyal to Romulus. Despite Imperious' concerns about enemy spies, Sister Solaris will only permit guards to remain at the gates as long as they are allowed entry.
Positioned toward the eastern sun from which it draws its power, the Altar of Phoebas is one of the most important monuments within Cimerora. The Oracle of the Seers has relied on its continued guidance in order to steer Cimerora through many of its darkest hours.
The Cimeroran Traitors have kept Castellum Quarter under their control for years. The walls have proven to be nearly impossible to breach, successfully rendering the fortress unreachable to even the strongest warriors.
Deep inside Castellum Quarter, soldiers once loyal to Imperious now plot his downfall. Despite alien and magical influence, it was just the basic nature of humanity to follow the strong, regardless of their morality, that helped swell Romulus' ranks.
Before proclaiming himself Emperor, Romulus Augustus was often seen visiting this rampart in the mountains. Always alone, he would spend hours staring out towards the open sea. Some claim this was the birthplace of his machinations to overthrow Imperious and conquer Cimerora
The mighty beasts that roam the hills of Cimerora guard certain cave entrances fiercely. Rumours say that 'dark ones' are the source of their power, and entering those caves is the first step in walking the Path of the Dark.
Day Jobs
Your time spent protecting the inhabitants of Cimerora has earned you the Cimeroran Day Job. Logging out in Cimerora will earn you a bonus to your damage resistance, when you log back in, for a short time.
Your time spent plotting against the inhabitants of Cimerora has earned you the Cimeroran Day Job. Logging out in Cimerora will earn you a bonus to your damage resistance, when you log back in, for a short time.
The entire zone is a Cimeroran day job location, except for the following specific location.
You have spent a great deal of time working in the hospitals of Paragon City during your free time earning the Caregiver Day Job. Logging out in a Hospital will earn you a Regeneration Bonus, when you log back in, for a short time.
Your expertise in surgery and understanding pain has earned you the Pain Specialist Day Job. Logging out in a Hospital will earn you a Regeneration Bonus, when you log back in, for a short time.
Transfer Points
- Pillar of Ice and Flame that leads to Midnighter Club
- Ouroboros exit portal (requires either the History in the Making badge or the Temporal Strife badge)
Enemy Groups
Cimeroran Traitors, led by Romulus Augustus are mainly concentrated up in the north, though they lurk all over the entire map. They do not like either Heroes or Villains, and will engage in battle with them if close enough or provoked. Their arch-enemies are the Cimerorans led by Imperious, and are frequently sighted battling them.
Defeating 100 Cimeroran Traitors anywhere in Cimerora will net the attackers the Centurion Badge.
Neutral Groups
Cimerorans come as both civilian and soldiers. The soldiers can be seen on guard at specific sites such as the ones guarding Imperious or at the bridge leading to the fortress in the north. They can also be found on patrol, and will engage in combat with Cimeroran Traitors if sighted. They con as Ally to both Heroes and Villains.
Notes
- This zone was added to the game for Heroes and Villains in Issue 12 with a minimum entry level of 35.
If you attempted to enter Cimerora before reaching level 35, you receive the following message:
The Aspect of the Pillar remains dark despite your best efforts to coax it to life.
[You must be level 35 or higher to use this crystal.]
- The minimum level for entry was removed in Issue 25.
