This article is about Trashcan, the Villain Alignment Merit vendor in The Crucible. For the Fort Trident version NPC, see Trashcan (Fort Trident).
Overview
Trashcan is a villain contact in The Crucible at coordinates (-138, -196, -992). Trashcan's Trashcan Vendor Object is a store contact. Trashcan himself, though he has the yellow ring of a contact, is not a contact at all, but more of a 'color NPC.'
General Information
Trashcan appears in The Crucible near the front of the chamber next to the Trashcan Vendor Object.
Information
This rather scurrilous individual looks alarmed as you approach him. Even behind the layers of what looks like a protective mask you can still see what amounts to sheer terror in his eyes.
Dialogue when clicked
Oh... Um... I wasn't doing anything. I mean... I'm here to join up with Arachnos... No... I mean, I'm not... I mean, I'm...
Trashcan looks around in terror, then at the top of his voice says:
PLEEEEEASE DON'T HURT MEEEEEEEEE! I'll give you ANYTHING! I have a whole bag full of things I scrounged from the dump -- I mean, things I found in the tra -- I mean, things I made! Take them, but please stop the kicking and punching!!!
Trashcan Vendor Object
While clicking on the Trashcan Vendor Object will bring up the store to use Villain Merits, the Trashcan Vendor Object may occasionally respond with dialogue rather than the store.
Occasional Dialogue
- I'll have lines once the office servers come back up and my creator can actually work again.
- I shouldn't be saying this line.
Store Information
Trashcan is available just inside the main room, to your left after entering the room. He will convert Reward Merits to Villain Alignment Merits at a rate of 50 Reward Merits plus 20,000,000 Influence for one Alignment Merit. This can be done once every twenty hours.
You must click on the Trashcan object beside the contact to enter the store.
- IO recipes can be had for 1-2 Villain Merits each.
- "Purple" (Very rare) IO recipes can be had for Villain Merits.
- PVP IO recipes can run from 25 to 35 Villain Merits.
- Respec Recipes run 10 Villain Merits.
- Costume Piece recipes run for 1 Villain Merit.
- Random Rare Recipe Rolls will provide 5 random rare recipes of a given range for 1 Villain Merit.
- Rare Salvage recipe rolls will provide 8 random pieces of Rare Salvage of a given range and type for 1 Villain Merit.
IO Recipe Cost and Availability
Availability is based on the cost of the recipe from a Merit Vendor in Reward Merits.
- Items that cost less than 100 Reward Merits are not available for purchase.
- Items that cost 100-199 Reward Merits cost 1 Villain Merits.
- Items that cost 200-299 Reward Merits cost 2 Villain Merits.
- Items that cost 300 or more Reward Merits do not exist, but would presumably follow the same pattern.
- Items that cannot be purchased with Reward Merits have a special pricing scheme (purples, PVP IOs, Respecs, costume parts, etc).
Because most uncommon recipes cost less than 100 Reward Merits, they aren't available for purchase from Trashcan.
Fort Trident
Trashcan is also located in Fort Trident at coordinates (-96.5, 0, 159).
Unlike the version of Trashcan in The Crucible, this Trashcan's Trashcan Vendor Object is called Can of Trash and is not a working store. There has been no official word of what this version of Trashcan is doing there. It is presumed he is there to role-play the idea that he is an underground conduit, scavenger, or thief who transports goods between both clubs, or, he was a prototype that was placed in Fort Trident by the Developers before The Crucible was put into the game during Beta, and, when copied over to the Crucible, was never erased from Fort Trident.
