Issue 20: Incarnates now live

Issue 20 is now live. The update introduces four Incarnate System slots; Judgement, Lore, Destiny, and Interface.

Also included in the update:

  • New endgame content for Incarnates. Two Incarnate Trials set in Praetoria, the Behavioral Adjustment Facility and Lambda Sector.
  • New Task Force and Strike Force for levels 20-40. The Sky is Falling, a task force for heroes; and The Fire and the Flames, a strike force for villains.
  • New group play features. Leagues allowing groups of up to 48 players to work together; and an upgraded Looking For Group function that allows players to sign up for an Incarnate Trial from almost anywhere in the game.
  • Quality of Life Enhancements. Players who have changed alignment can now collect all six Respec trial badges; and the Black Helicopter network in the Rogue Isles has been significantly expanded.

NCsoft Launcher released, bonus aura!

NCsoft have released the NCsoft Launcher, a new way to download and patch City of Heroes. For a limited time, customers using the launcher will unlock the new Wisp aura for free. The launcher features the ability to download patches via a content distribution network, as well as other enhancements.

A Mac OS version of the launcher will also be released (along with access to the Wisp aura for customers using Mac OS) "as soon as possible". NCsoft will be disabling the ability to launch via the old game updater once migration to the new launcher is complete.

See the official announcement, and information on where to download the Launcher, here!
