The table under Travel Speeds looks like it's saying that Flight is capped out-of-box at all levels. Is that really true? If so, when did that happen? That seems like what it's saying, but if it were true, I'd expect it to be explicitly stated (since it's a major thing to consider for slotting and it's not at all obvious), and it also seems to be contradicted by the paragraph under Siphon Speed which claims it "can easily cap Fly".  -- Sekoia 22:10, 5 January 2011 (UTC)

:I think it's a bug which has been there since Issue 17... but not too sure.  At the moment though, Fly powers (well, not including the slow ones like Hover), including the temp ones like Raptor Pack, are capped with no slotting.  You can check this yourself with combat attributes, including using the Jump Pack temp power on Raptor Pack to attempt to increase the speed.  There's been no real official word on if this has been noticed by the devs though, or when it will be fixed.  Sera404 22:33, 5 January 2011 (UTC)

Revision as of 22:33, 5 January 2011

This thing needs a complete re-write. as stated below, http://home.comcast.net/~SherkSilver/index.html has a section on Travel Powers that I need to read through --Konoko 02:09, 8 March 2006 (PST)

Speed data

Speeds in MPH, enhanced = 3x SO enhancement

Power Speed @ 14 Speed @ 50 Enhanced @ 50 Cap
Fly 28.72 33.87 52.44 58.63
Super Jump 50.37 55.97 89.80 (capped) 78.00
Super Speed 59.96 70.45 118.02 (capped) 92.50
Teleport 102.27 102.27 159.55 (none)

My planner indicates that landspeed (SS) caps at 100 mph. I have not been able to confirm or refute this.

Blasters with Energy Manipulation may be able to achieve as much as 312 mph using Power Boost and Boost Range.

Which Hero Planner/Builder do you use?
There is a section in SherkSilver's that goes on about travel powers

Executive Summary

Teleport can be faster than 150 MPH; nothing beats it.
Super Speed at level 50 is capped at 92.50 MPH with 2 SOs or HOs.
Super Jumping at level 50 is capped at 78 MPH with 3 SOs or HOs.
Flying at level 50 is capped at 58.63 MPH with 4 SOs or 5 HOs.
Running, Jumping, and Flying all have a base unenhancable speed of 21 feet/second.
Movement powers add a bonus to the base 21 f/s speed; Enhancements only affect the bonus.
The best movement power is Kheldian Bright and Dark Nova flight.
Microfilament HOs give a +30% enhancement bonus, white SOs give +33.3%.
New Microfilament HOs give a +20% Enhancement bonus.
With new HOs, it takes 3 to cap Super Speed, 4 for Super Jumping, and you can't cap Fly.

I use SherkSilver's Hero Planner. This data agrees with that planner.

Additional Travel Powers and new article

I think we need to add these powers to the Travel Powers article in some fashion. Or create a "list of powers that enhance movement/travel".

I also believe we need an article solely for Travel and the various methods of getting from Point A to Point B, including but not limited to:

 • Rogue Island Ferry and Black Helicopter Line
 • Paragon City Green Line, Red Line
 • Ouroboros
 • Pocket D
 • Supergroup Base Portals
 • Striga's Ship, Peregrine Island's Ferry
 • Zone Connections

Discuss! --Konoko 15:57, 10 June 2010 (UTC)

Maybe we need to specify the difference between true travel powers and non travel powers that enhance movement. I think we could pretty easily determine which powers qualify as true travel powers and which do not by seeing what powers are disabled when you start a flashback mission with travel powers disabled. --Eabrace Healthbar notify phone.png 19:42, 10 June 2010 (UTC)
We also need to distinguish between PvE Suppression and PvP Suppression. E.g., Teleport is not subject to the first, but is to the latter.Zombie Man 00:14, 12 June 2010 (UTC)
