Overview

The Shining Stars are a group of heroes one encounters and works with throughout the course of the Hero Ongoing Training Missions, as well as being encountered in select missions in the Who Will Die story arc.

Dillo

Main Article: Dillo

One of the Maaxigada'arzildilo, aliens from a distant solar system , "Dillo" has traveled to Earth to warn the Humans of the impending threat of the Shivans. Dillo's homeworld was destroyed centuries by a devastating assault by the Shivans leaving him and his people as space-faring nomads. Upon finding radio waves sent from Earth, Dillo's people have sent him as a scout to warn the Humans of dangers of Shivans or to return with sad news of another race of lifeforms annihilated by these unstoppable devastators. Having arrived just as the invasion began, Dillo chose to stay and help the Earthlings fight off the menace instead of potentially luring them back to his own people.

SuperStrength Jab.png Jab Melee, Light Damage(Smash), Foe Minor Disorient
A quick jab that deals minor damage, but has a chance of Disorienting the target, especially if coupled with other attacks.

SuperStrength Punch.png Punch Melee, Moderate Damage(Smash), Foe Knockdown
Your Super Strength Punch can deal a moderate amount of damage, but most of all can knock your opponent off their feet, unable to attack again until they stands up.

SuperStrength Haymaker.png Haymaker (Only Level 16 and up) Melee, High Damage(Smash), Foe Knockdown
A slow but devastating attack, the Haymaker has a great chance of knocking your opponent down.

SuperStrength Hurl.png Hurl Ranged, High Damage(Smash), Foe Knockback
You are able to tear up a chunk of ground beneath your feet and Hurl it at an enemy. This attack deals high damage, and can knock foes back and even drop them out of the air if they are flying.

Invulnerability ResToPhysicalDmg.png Resist Physical Damage Auto, Self Res( S7.5 L7.5 ), Resist(-Defense)
You are naturally tough and inherently resistant to Smashing and Lethal damage as well as Defense Debuff effects. This power is always on, and costs no Endurance.

Invulnerability TemporaryInvulnerabilty.png Temp Invulnerability (Only Level 10 and up) Toggle, Self Res( S20 L20 )
When you toggle on this power, you become highly resistant to Smashing and Lethal damage.

Your Super Strength Punch can deal a moderate amount of damage, but most of all can knock your opponent off their feet, unable to attack again until they stands up.

You are able to tear up a chunk of ground beneath your feet and Hurl it at an enemy. This attack deals high damage, and can knock foes back and even drop them out of the air if they are flying.

You can perform a Knockout Blow on your opponent. This punch does Superior damage, and has a great chance of Holding your target.

PowerBlast NovaBlast.png Nova Point Blank Area of Effect, Fatal Damage(Energy/Smash), Foe Knockback
You can explode in a tremendous blast of energy, sending nearby foes flying. The Nova deals massive damage to all nearby foes, although the damage does vary. Activating this power leaves you drained of Endurance, and unable to recover any Endurance for a while.

FireBlast FireBall.png Fire Ball Ranged (Targeted Area of Effect), Superior Damage(Fire/Smash), Moderate Damage over Time(Fire)
Hurls an exploding Fireball that consumes a targeted foe, and all nearby enemies. Anyone in that explosion is burned and set ablaze.

Invulnerability DullPain.png Dull Pain Self Heal, +MaxHP
You can activate this power to increase your maximum Hit Points for a short time.

Invulnerability UnyeildlingStance.png Unyielding Auto, Self Res( S5 L5 F10 C10 E10 N10 T10 ), Prot( Ho 10.38 Im 10.38 St 10.38 Sl 10.38 Kb 10 )
When you toggle on this power, you become Unyielding. You are resistant to all damage but Psionics, as well as Knockback, Sleep, Hold, Immobilize, Disorient effects.

Invulnerability Invincibility.png Invincibility Auto, Self Def( S5 L5 F5 C5 E5 N5 ), Def( S1 L1 F1 C1 E1 N1 ) per nearby enemy, +ToHit per nearby enemy
While this power is active, for each nearby foe in melee range you receive a bonus to Defense against all attacks but Psionics, and a bonus to your chance to hit. This power is most effective while fighting multiple opponents. The first foe you engage in melee grants the highest Defense bonus, and up to 10 foes can contribute to you Defense and ToHit Bonus.

Flambeaux is a fiery-haired hero who developed a process to turn her body energies into biochemical fire she can project at her enemies.

The Legacy of Flame can summon a fire sword that sets foes ablaze. Successful attacks will also do a slight damage over time.

FireBlast ArcOfFire.png Fire Breath (Only Level 16 and up) Ranged (Cone), High Damage over Time(Fire)
The Legacy of Flame breaths forth a cone of fire that burns all foes within it's narrow cone. Very accurate and very deadly at medium range.


Grym

Grym endured the Trials of Confluence for all 7 years, emerging as the Lord Guardian until the Trials begin once again. Taking his right of first choosing, he selected Paragon City as his protectorate and crossed the veil into the World of Shape to install himself as the City's Grim.

Powers

Sword Hack.png Hack Melee, High Damage(Lethal), Foe -Defense
You Hack your opponent for a high amount of damage. This attack can reduce a target's Defense, making him easier to hit.

Sword Slash.png Slash Melee, Moderate Damage(Lethal), Foe -Defense
You perform a quick Slash that can reduce a target's Defense, making him easier to hit. This attack causes moderate damage, but has a quick recharge time.

Temporary TargetedDoT.png Throwing Knives Ranged, Moderate Damage(Lethal)
With your natural origin you have to rely on your cunning and skill. You've acquired these throwing knives as part of your personal arsenal. You can throw these knives at a very short range, and deal minor Lethal damage to your target, but a nasty wound will do additional Damage over Time. Note that Throwing Knives is unaffected by Range changes.

Sword Slice.png Slice (Only Level 10 and up) Melee (Cone), Moderate Damage(Lethal), Foe -Defense
You Slice your sword in a wide arc, attacking all enemies in front of you. Slice does less damage than Slash, but can hit multiple foes and reduce their defense.

SuperStrength FootStomp.png Foot Stomp (Only Level 30 and up) Point Blank Area of Effect, High Damage(Smash), Foe Knockback
Using your superior leg strength, you can Stomp your foot to the ground, quaking the earth itself. This is a localized attack against everything in melee range.

SuperStrength HandClap.png Hand Clap (Only Level 30 and up) Point Blank Area of Effect, Foe Disorient, Knockback
You can clap your hands together with such force that you create a deafening shockwave. This shockwave can knock back nearby foes, and they have a chance to become Disoriented due to the shock to the inner ear. Hand Clap deals no damage.

Regeneration Reconstruction.png Reconstruction (Only Level 16 and up) Self Heal, Resist(Toxic)
Through perfect control of your body, you can concentrate for a few moments and heal yourself. The effects of Reconstruction also leaves you resistant to Toxic damage for a while.

Regeneration FastHealing.png Fast Healing Auto, Self +Regeneration
You heal Hit Points at a faster rate than normal. This power is always on.


Proton

Main Article: Proton

A refugee from another dimension and time, Proton seeks a way back home to his true world. The clone of the son of his world's Manticore and Sister Psyche, Proton was raised by his 'uncle' Positron after their untimely death. Wearing Positron's final armor design, Proton faced down the combined might of the Arachnos Empire during the world's most desperate moment and lost. Ripped through time and space, Proton now seeks to defend Paragon City from Arachnos before it's too late for this world. And perhaps along the way, he'll be able to use his superior intellect from a future that never was to return to his home.

Proton's bio becomes the following when encountered during the Freakish Lab of Doctor Vahzilok:

Proton once believed he was a refugee from another dimension and time. He claimed to be the clone of Manticore and Sister Psyche and raised by Positron. However, this outrageous story proved to be false, a reality that was crafted by Praetor Tilman. Proton was, in reality, an unknowin mole planted by the Praetorians to try to attack Primal Earth. Tilman's control over Proton was broken, and now he seeks to carve out a new life and path for himself.

A very quick, but low damage attack. Neutrino Bolt can reduce the target's Defense.

RadiationBurst XRayBeam.png X-Ray Beam Ranged, Moderate Damage(Energy), Foe -Defense
You can emit a beam of X-Ray energy from your eyes, dealing moderate Energy damage. This attack can bypass some defenses and can reduce the target's Defense.

RadiationBurst ElectronHaze.png Electron Haze (Only Level 10 and up) Ranged (Cone), Moderate Damage(Energy), Foe -Defense, Knockback
A short range conical blast of free electrons. This attack can bypass some of a target's defenses and reduce the target's Defense. It can also knock some targets down.

RadiationPoisoning RadiationEmission.png Radiant Aura Point Blank Area of Effect, Ally Heal
You can use Radiant Aura to heal some of your wounds, and the wounds of your group. This power has a small radius, so your allies need to be near you if they wish to be affected.

RadiationPoisoning RadiationInfection.png Radiation Infection (Only Level 12 and up) Toggle, Ranged (Targeted Area of Effect), Foe -Defense, -ToHit
Infects a targeted foe with deadly radiation, severely reducing their chance to hit and Defense. All foes that come near the target will also become infected. The Radiation Infection will last until you deactivate it, or until the original target is defeated.

Twinshot is a trained commando with a friendly demeanor and a mysterious past.

Powers

DualPistols Pistols.png Pistols Ranged, Minor DMG(Lethal/Special)
Quickly fires a round from one of your heavy automatic pistols. Damage is average, but the fire rate is very fast. Damage: Minor, Recharge: Very Fast NOTE: Changing your ammo type with the 'Swap Ammo' power will change your secondary damage from lethal to cold, fire or toxic.

DualPistols DualWield.png Dual Wield Ranged, Moderate DMG(Lethal/Special), Foe Knockback/Special
Dual Wield fires both pistols in rapid succession at its desired target. This power is slower than Pistols, but deals more damage, and the target may get knocked down by the force of the impact. Damage: Moderate, Recharge: Fast

Gadgets WebGrenade.png Web Grenade Ranged, Target Immobilize, -Recharge, -Fly
Upon impact, the Web Grenade expels a strong, tenuous, and very sticky substance that can Immobilize most targets. This non-lethal device deals no damage and does not prevent targets from attacking, although their attack rate is Slowed. The Web can bring down flying entities and halts jumping. Recharge: Fast

DualPistols EmptyClips.png Empty Clips Ranged (Cone), Moderate DMG(Lethal/Special), Knockback/Special
You empty the clips of both your pistols in an arc of suppression fire. This attack can blast multiple foes in the affected cone area, and has a small chance of knocking some foes down. Damage: Moderate, Recharge: Moderate

DualPistols ExplosiveClip.png Bullet Rain Ranged (Targeted AoE), Moderate DMG(Lethal/Special), Knockback/Special
You fire your pistols faster than the human eye can follow, causing your bullet trajectory to arc, dealing moderate Lethal damage and possibly knocking your foes back. Damage: Moderate, Recharge: Slow

Leadership Tactics.png Leadership PBAoE, Team +To Hit, Res(Confuse, Fear), +Perception
While this power is active, your chance to hit and that of all your nearby teammates' is increased. Your advanced Tactics also protect you and your team from Confuse and Fear effects, as well as your Perception so you can detect Stealthy foes.

Trivia

  • Dillo is known for his... unique way of speaking as well as the noise "*hoorb*" which he uses regularly.
  • Manticore of the Freedom Phalanx counted himself as part of The Shining Stars while becoming a benefactor for the small supergroup.
