Slash Command
/usehdr [0-1]
Use HDR lighting effects (Bloom/tonemapping) if available.
- 0 = Disable HDR, 1 = Enable HDR. Default = 0.
- HDR, or High Dynamic Range, increases the range of lighting contrast ratios, making dark images darker, and bright images brighter, while maintaining details in the image that would have been lost in high contrast, non-HDR rendering. In addition to a wider contrast ratio, HDR also provides a wider color gamut, and a wider color bit depth. All this results in more realistic, life-like imagery but also requires higher bandwidth and processing power. For HDR to work, the computer running the game must have a Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) that supports HDR, a display that supports HDR, and a minimum DisplayPort 1.4 or HDMI 2.0a connection between them. The HDR that City of Heroes employs came before Vesa began their HDR open standard and certification program in 2018.
Command Line Parameter
The command can be made more or less permanent by running it automatically at log-in as a Command Line Parameter. For example, -usehdr 1
.
Example
/usehdr 1
