'''vis_scale''' ''float(number between 0.5 and 4)''
* Default = 1.0 (100%)
* This command alters the World Detail setting in Options--> Graphics and Audio tab--> Advanced Graphics Settings.
* The World Detail setting in the Options window limits the world detail to between 50% (0.5) to 200% (2.0). The '''/vis_scale''' command allows you to increase the scale beyond the conventional limits, up to 2000% (20.0).
* Any World Detail setting greater than 2.0 will currently not be saved and will revert to 2.0 upon restarting the game client or opening the Graphics and Audio tab in Options. However, the setting appears to be retained if merely quitting to the character select window to choose another character.

Controls world detail.

The user interface, under Options, Graphics and Audio, allows this to be changed via a slider. The slider goes from 50% (0.5) and 200% (2.0). The '''/vis_scale''' command allows you to bump this all the way up to 400% (4.0).

Any setting, including those above 2.0, can be made more or less permanent by running the command automatically at log-in as a [[Command Line Parameters|command line parameter]]. For example, <code>-vis_scale 5</code>

'''NOTE: ''' You can enter any number after /vis_scale, the command will automatically lower numbers higher than 4.0 and raise numbers lower than 0.5

<span style="color:red;text-decoration:underline">'''Warning:'''</span>
'''Setting /vis_scale to 4.0 is NOT recommended under normal circumstances. The extra strain placed on your proccessor and video card is tremendous and should only be attempted on higher end systems.''' Setting vis_scale to 3 or higher renders almost every object in the zone at once. Most systems, even lower end systems, will still render everything, but your framerate and ability to chat will be severely reduced, this includes attempting to lower vis_scale back down.
Setting /vis_scale to 4.0 or higher values may not be wise on older hardware. Setting vis_scale to 3 or higher renders almost every object in the zone at once (but not every detail of every object). Your frame rate may be very low and this can make it tricky to reduce vis_scale again.

That being said, a 1.5GHz AMD Athlon, 1GB DDR RAM, 128MB AGP nVidia 6600 computer can handle visscale 4.0 in limited situations.

Slash Command

/vis_scale [0.5-20.0]

Controls the distance at which world details are rendered.

  • Default = 1.0 (100%)
  • This command alters the World Detail setting in Options--> Graphics and Audio tab--> Advanced Graphics Settings.
  • The World Detail setting in the Options window limits the world detail to between 50% (0.5) to 200% (2.0). The /vis_scale command allows you to increase the scale beyond the conventional limits, up to 2000% (20.0).
  • Any World Detail setting greater than 2.0 will currently not be saved and will revert to 2.0 upon restarting the game client or opening the Graphics and Audio tab in Options. However, the setting appears to be retained if merely quitting to the character select window to choose another character.

Command Line Parameter

Any setting, including those above 2.0, can be made more or less permanent by running the command automatically at log-in as a command line parameter. For example, -vis_scale 5

Warning: Setting /vis_scale to 4.0 or higher values may not be wise on older hardware. Setting vis_scale to 3 or higher renders almost every object in the zone at once (but not every detail of every object). Your frame rate may be very low and this can make it tricky to reduce vis_scale again.

Example

/vis_scale 5
