Overview

Martial Arts is a standard power set that is a primary set for Brutes, Scrappers, and Stalkers, and a secondary set for Tankers.

"A compilation of various fighting techniques from around the world, Martial Arts makes you a master in the art of hand to hand combat. Martial Artists tend to be very accurate with their strikes."

Powers

MartialArts AssassinStrike.png Assassin's Blow

A signature Stalker attack. This attack does superior smashing damage on its own as a frontal attack and cannot be interrupted. However, if it is executed while you are Hidden, this attack will do tremendous damage, as you waylay your unsuspecting foe. This attack may be interrupted if you move or are attacked while executing this power and are hidden. Using this power while not hidden as a chance to critically hit equal to 33.3% time the number of stacks of Assassin's Focus. Using Assassin's Blow when not hidden will remove all stacks of Assassin's Focus regardless if you critically hit or not.

Using intense martial arts focus, you can perform a Cobra Strike that deals high damage (medium damage for Stalkers), but has a great chance of Disorienting your target.

You can perform a Crippling Axe Kick that deals Superior (Moderate for Stalkers) smashing damage, reduces the target's defense, may immobilize, and Slowing their run speed. Crippling Axe Kick may also knock some flying entities out of the sky.

MartialArts EaglesClaw.png Eagle's Claw

You can perform a devastating kick that can severely Disorient most opponents. After using Eagle's Claw your damage will be increased for a brief moment allowing the next attack or two to cause additional damage.

Scrappers only: You can perform a devastating kick that can severely Disorient most opponents. Eagle's Claw has an exceptionally good critical hit capability, better than other Martial Arts attacks, that can sometimes deal double damage.

Stalkers only: You can perform a devastating smashing damage kick that can severely Disorient most opponents. Eagle's Claw has an exceptionally good critical hit capability. In addition to the normal Critical from attacking while Hidden, there is also a small chance you may land a Critical hit even if you are not Hidden.

MartialArts Placate.png Placate

Allows you to trick a foe to no longer attack you. A successful Placate will also Hide you. This Hide is very brief, and offers no defense bonus, but it will allow you to deliver a Critical Hit or an Assassin's Blow. However, if you attack a Placated foe, he will be able to attack you back.

MartialArts StormKick.png Storm Kick

You can unleash a roundhouse kick that pummels your foe for moderate damage. Storm Kick boosts defense against melee, ranged and area of effect damage slightly for a short period of time after hitting their foe. This bonus defense doesn't stack with itself and is unenhanceable.

Editor's Note:

Scrappers/Stalkers only: You can unleash a roundhouse kick that pummels your foe for moderate damage. Storm Kick has a greater than average chance to score a critical hit.

Taunt foes to attack you. Useful to pull enemies off allies and keep them attacking you to raise your Fury. A To Hit check is required to Taunt enemy players, but is not needed against critter targets.

Editor's Note:

Tanker: Taunts a foe, and some nearby foes, to attack you. Useful for pulling villains off an ally who find themselves in over their head. Taunted foes tend to ignore other Heroes and focus on you for quite a while, so use this power cautiously. A To Hit check is required to Taunt enemy players, but is not needed against critter targets.
