Arachnos Summons Order

Alignment Mission

You are approached by an Arachnos messenger who hastily delivers a letter and runs for his life.

You flip the black piece of plastic over noticing the red emblazed Arachnos spider logo on its cover. Upon opening it you see the following message:

Greetings Character,

I have been tasked by Lord Recluse himself to bring you back to the Isles. I have been given files outlining all of your 'heinous' deeds within the Rogue Isles and will expose them all to the public of Paragon City if you do not comply with this summons. All you are required to do at this time is to go to the coordinates located below and kill the target being held by the Arachnos agents there. Comply and you will receive a full pardon from Lord Recluse for your treachery. Fail to comply and you will be exposed for what you truly are. That, and I'll personally tear you limb from limb.

Who does Lord Recluse think he is? King of the world? Okay, maybe he does, but that doesn't mean he can try and intimidate you. That said, there might be a way to profit off of this situation and still look good in the eyes of the public.

HERO: Investigate Arachnos Summons

Some people might see a problem, you see an opportunity. Hopefully there's a way to both profit and not make too many enemies. You definitely won't go back to the Rogue Isles unless it's on your own terms, and you certainly won't cooperate with Mangle or any Arachnos goons. It's probably best to investigate and then go from there.

You wonder who Arachnos expects you to execute. Could it be someone big like Positron, Penelope Yin or the like? That'd be tempting, those big shots always seem to take all the glory. Well, you're ready for whatever Arachnos or Mangle might throw at you. You head off for the coordinates mentioned in the summons notice.

Unnecessary Solicitation

Mangle isn't a patient person. It's best to get over to the coordinates listed in this summons and to find out what this whole thing is about.

You can hear the clattering of heavily armored Arachnos agents echoing through these halls and off in the distance you can hear the muffled moans of someone in pain.

  • Lead Overdrive out

You confronted Mangle and showed him you're no Arachnos pawn.

Overdrive is teleported away!

In the middle of Overdrive thanking you, she was teleported away. You're pretty sure it wasn't Paragon City's medi-porter too.

So it was you that Arachnos called in to execute me. I thought you were considering to fight for good instead of your previous selfish mot--

Well, I am pleasantly surprised.

• Let's fight out way out of here Overdrive.

I'm afraid I won't be of much use in a fight. They've drugged me. I can hardly see straight and it's difficult to operate my suit's targeting systems and combat functions. I'll need you to walk me out of here.

• Not a problem, let's go. I think these Arachnos goons are catching on.

The air begins to crackle with energy and Overdrive begins to disappear

Wh-what's going on? Character! Hel--

• Uh oh, that's not good.

Overdrive: What..what's happening to me?

Mangle: I told Recluse.

Mangle: I said 'Just let me tear Character's arms off, they won't go for it.'

Mangle: Did he listen?

Mangle: Noooooo he didn't and now we have to deal with Character.

Tarantula Queen: Kill Character!

Mangle: Wait wait wait... Before you do me in.......!

Character, I always knew you were a pathetic do-gooder. The price of your failure will be extreme. Not only will I release this footage of your brutality to the people of Paragon City, I will also kill Overdrive myself as well as make sure Arachnos hunts you down.

• What makes you think I'm going to let you get away with this?

• (Punch Mangle in the teeth)

Your fist passes through Mangle's partially incorporeal form as he begins to teleport away.

Ah ha haha!

Overdrive: Character! Where are you?

When found again:

Overdrive: You came back for me.

Overdrive: I'm thankful.

When exit is reached:

Overdrive: I can't thank you enough. You have the makings of a real hero.

Debriefing

You showed Arachnos and Mangle that you're not going back to the Rogue Isles unless it's on your terms. Additionally you managed to destroy Mangle's footage of your exploits in the Rogue Isles and you managed to save a Paragon hero to boot. Not bad. Not bad at all.
