This article describes paid-for or restricted features as they were before the 2012 shutdown. Homecoming has no such restrictions or charges.

Overview

Paragon Rewards Powers are permanent powers that a player could claim as part of the Paragon Rewards Program. They are now typically available from the S.T.A.R.T. Vendor.

All Paragon Reward powers were available separately for each character on that player's account, including new characters. Some of these powers were mutually exclusive. After selection, these powers could not be re-selected, so choices were carefully considered.

Attacks from the Paragon Rewards Program are affected by recharge and accuracy/tohit buffs, but no other buffs. However, their damage can be increased if the target is suffering from resistance debuffs.

Prestige Sprints

These powers may be claimed as part of tier 3. All four of these powers are awarded as a single package.

Inherent Sprint.png Prestige Power Dash

Prestige Power Dash allows you to travel, or run away, slightly faster than normal, while slightly draining your endurance.

This power is mechanically identical to Sprint with the addition of silvery ripples around the character while moving.

Inherent Sprint.png Prestige Power Quick

Prestige Power Quick allows you to travel, or run away, slightly faster than normal, while slightly draining your endurance.

This power is mechanically identical to Sprint with the addition of comet trails behind the character while moving.

Inherent Sprint.png Prestige Power Rush

Prestige Power Rush allows you to travel, or run away, slightly faster than normal, while slightly draining your endurance.

This power is mechanically identical to Sprint with the addition of luminous vapor trails behind the character while moving.

Inherent Sprint.png Prestige Power Surge

Prestige Power Surge allows you to travel, or run away, slightly faster than normal, while slightly draining your endurance.

This power is mechanically identical to Sprint with the addition of a luminous aura around the character while moving.

Melee Attacks

These powers may be claimed as part of tier 3, only one of these may be claimed per character. Additionally at tier 6 each character may select a new power from either tier 3 or tier 5 powers but may not duplicate a claimed power.

Veteran UndeadSlayingAxe.png Ghost Slaying Axe

This massive weapon was specifically crafted by MAGI to slay the undead. Note that Mastermind's Henchmen are protected from this effect. Damage enhancing powers do not apply to the Ghost Slaying Axe.

Effects Bonus Damage vs True Undead

This power is slightly different from the Temporary Undead Slaying Axe. Although both weapons cause the same amounts of normal and bonus damage, the Paragon Rewards weapon's bonus damage is Energy damage, whereas the Undead Slaying Axe's bonus damage is a special type that is unaffected by resistances. These two powers do different amounts of bonus damage to Undead targets that have a resistance or a vulnerability to Energy damage. Also, the Temporary version's normal damage is buffable.

Veteran SandsOfMu.png Sands of Mu

You have found some strange black sand. While carrying it, you have the ability to deal a flurry of punches charged with Negative Energy of the Netherworld. Damage enhancing powers do not apply to the Sands of Mu.

This power is slightly different from the Temporary Sands of Mu. The Temporary version's damage is buffable.

Ranged Attacks

These powers may be claimed on tier 5, only one of these may be claimed per character. Additionally at tier 6 each character may select a new power from either these tier 5 or tier 3 powers but may not duplicate a claimed power. If you select one of these powers as your tier 6 reward, it will not have bonus damage based upon origin.

Veteran NemesisStaff.png Nemesis Staff

Veteran Nemesis Staff

This strange, steam-powered staff shoots a bolt of energy that deals damage, knocks back foes. The Nemesis is particularly effective when wielded by Technology, Science or Natural origin individuals. Damage enhancing powers do not apply to the Nemesis Staff.

This power is slightly different from the Temporary Nemesis Staff. The Temporary version offers no bonus damage based on origin, sometimes Disorients its target, and sometimes doesn't knock its target back. The Temporary version's damage is also buffable.

Veteran Blackwand.png Blackwand

Veteran Blackwand

This black metal wand feels cold in your hand, and glows with dark arcane energies. When used by Magic, Mutant or Natural origin individuals, the potency of its attacks are increased. Damage enhancing powers do not apply to the Blackwand.

This power is slightly different from the Temporary Blackwand. The Temporary version offers bonus damage only to Magic origin characters, and it does not reduce its target's accuracy. The Temporary version's damage is also buffable.

Note: The Blackwand's description in the initial power selection popup fails to mention that Natural Origin characters get a damage bonus with it.


Non-Combat Pets

These powers may be claimed on tier 5. Only one of these may be claimed per character. Pets cannot be summoned while a flight power is active.

These pets are purely for show. They do nothing except follow the summoner around. They cannot be controlled or dismissed, and they cannot be targeted or affected by powers (though they do suffer falling damage, oddly enough).

Veteran SummonPet.png Clockwork Pet

You can use this power to create a solidified hologram of a Clockwork Sprocket. It will follow you around wherever you go. Great for parties.

You can use this power to create a solidified hologram of a small Demon, complete with wings. It will follow you around wherever you go. Great for parties.

Combat-Buff Pets

These powers may be claimed as part of tier 6. Only one of these may be claimed per character. Pets cannot be summoned while a flight power is active.

There are two styles of pet per graphic option. Each style gives one of two buffs. Only the Light/Dark Fairy Pet seem to leave a targetable corpse.

  • These pets have the following:
    • Same level as the summoner
    • Give a buff to the owner (see buffs below)
    • Will draw aggro if seen
    • Are fully targetable and affectable by both helpful and hostile powers
    • Low Health: 5 to 10 depending on level of the summoner (5 up to lvl 28, 10 from level 32 on, inbetween not certain yet)
    • Have -75% resistance to all damage types (to further help them die easily)
    • Refresh very fast and can be summoned quickly after being used


Buffs: Empowering Aura:

  • Defense/Recovery (Shield) +Rec, +Def - Base Defense +3.00%, Recovery Rate +1.75% (+0.08 end/second)
  • Resist/Damage (Power) +Dmg, +Res(all) - Damage Bonus +3.00%, Resist (all) +5.00%

This power may be claimed as part of tier 6.

This power allows you to teleport all of your teammates to your location.

Veteran TeleportBase.png Base Transporter

This power may be claimed as part of tier 5. This power has a minimum level requirement of 3. You can claim it at level 1 or 2, but it will not appear on your character until you reach level 3.

You have a Base Transport beacon. It will allow you to return to your base from any location. It is usable once every 30 minutes.

If your Supergroup belongs to a Coalition, you may teleport to any base within that Coalition. This power takes a long time to activate, and is interruptible.

Veteran PatrolXPBuff.png Experienced

This power may be claimed as part of tier 7. This reward can only be claimed once per character.

Your experience within Paragon City or Rogue Isles has earned you the right to give you a boost to Patrol XP. When this power is used, you will gain half a level of Patrol XP, however you can only ever have 1 level worth of Patrol XP at a time. NOTE: Any Patrol XP granted through this power beyond the one level limit will be lost. This power has 5 charges.

Icon clue generic.png Inner Inspiration

You can look deep within yourself to find the inspiration necessary to overcome any obstacle. Using this power will award the player with 3 inspirations. Inner Inspiration may be used once every 30 minutes.

You have a Mission Transport beacon. It will allow you to teleport to your active missions entrance. It has a 5 minute cooldown.

Veteran SelfRez.png Return to Battle

This power may be claimed as part of tier 8.

If you are defeated, you may return to battle empowered by the effects of several types of large inspirations! After each use, you may not use this effect again for another hour.

Effects Self-rez to 52.5% health and 52.5% endurance in PvE.
10 magnitude untouchable for 15s
50 magnitude immobilize for 4s

Veteran Reveal.png Reveal

This power may be claimed as part of tier 7.

Your extensive knowledge of your surroundings will allow you to clear the "Fog of War" from any map once every 5 minutes

Temporary SignatureSummon.png Signature Summon

This power will summon one of 4 powerful allies to aid you in combat. When summoned, your signature ally will be an Elite Boss and last for 4 minutes.

Signature Summon (Tank)

Selecting this power will award you 5 charges of a power that will call an Echo of a powerful defensive character to your aid. If you're a hero, this power will call an Echo of Statesman. If you're a villain it will call an Echo of Lord Recluse. Your summoned ally will vanish after 4 minutes, after being defeated or after you zone, whichever happens first. If you already own this power, you can add 5 additional charges to whatever remaining charges you have left in Signature Summon (Tank).

Signature Summon (Support)

Selecting this power will award you 5 charges of a power that will call an Echo of a powerful support character to your aid. If you're a hero, this power will call an Echo of Manticore. If you're a villain it will call an Echo of Ghost Widow. Your summoned ally will vanish after 4 minutes, after being defeated or after you zone, whichever happens first. If you already own this power, you can add 5 additional charges to whatever remaining charges you have left in Signature Summon (Support).

Signature Summon (Melee Damage)

Selecting this power will award you 5 charges of a power that will call an Echo of a powerful melee damage character to your aid. If you're a hero, this power will call an Echo of Back Alley Brawler. If you're a villain it will call an Echo of Black Scorpion. Your summoned ally will vanish after 4 minutes, after being defeated or after you zone, whichever happens first. If you already own this power, you can add 5 additional charges to whatever remaining charges you have left in Signature Summon (Melee Damage).

Signature Summon (Ranged Damage)

Selecting this power will award you 5 charges of a power that will call an Echo of a powerful ranged attack character to your aid. If you're a hero, this power will call an Echo of Positron. If you're a villain it will call an Echo of Scirocco Your summoned ally will vanish after 4 minutes, after being defeated or after you zone, whichever happens first. If you already own this power, you can add 5 additional charges to whatever remaining charges you have left in Signature Summon (Ranged Damage).

This power may be claimed as part of tier 9.

Temporary PatrolXP.png XP Boosters

Activating this power will give you +25% Experience Point gain for 1 hour. This power cannot be activated if XP Booster is currently active.

Temporary LootBoost.png WindFall

Activating this power will increase your Influence gain by +25%. Also, this power grants the user a greater chance at earning Medium and Large Inspirations, provided the user is either a VIP or has the appropriate Reward Level for these Inspirations to drop in the first place. Additionally while this power is active, the user will have drop rates for Invention Salvage, Recipes, Very Rare Recipes, Rare Boss Recipes, Incarnate Shards (if level 50 w/ Alpha Slot unlocked) and Incarnate Threads (if level 50 and in an Incarnate Trial) increased by 50%. NOTE: Salvage and Recipe drops require the player to either be VIP, have Reward Level 7 or own an Invention License. Incarnate Shard and Incarnate Thread drops require the user to be a VIP subscriber. These effects last for 1 hour.
