Overview

Winter Origin (WO) Enhancements were first released as part of Issue 25 and are considered an "event enhancement" connected with the Winter Event during December. However, they are available for players to purchase year-round. They consist of four damage sets and a hold set, for a total of five Winter Origin sets. All are unique enhancements, meaning only one of each enhancement may be slotted on a character. Every Winter Origin set includes one enhancement with a special effect proc. Standard winter enhancements grant enhancement and set bonuses that are roughly equivalent to rare enhancement sets. Each Winter Origin enhancement has a minimum level requirement of 10 and a maximum of 50. The basic enhancement aspect bonuses (Acc, Dam, End Red, Res, Def, etc.) are affected by exemplaring as normal. Set bonuses for standard and superior Winter Origin enhancements are not affected by exemplaring and remain the same value regardless of the character's level.

Note that winter enhancements are not Inventions: they can not be crafted. Once acquired, they appear in the character's enhancement tray and are ready to be slotted.

Players can both trade and email all winter enhancements.

Availability

Winter enhancements are available from the following sources:

Superior Enhancements

Once a character reaches level 50, Enhancement catalysts can be applied to the standard enhancements to boost them to "Superior" versions with higher enhancement values and bigger set bonuses. Superior winter enhancements grant enhancement and set bonuses that are roughly equivalent to very rare enhancement sets. To catalyze a whole standard set into a superior set, a player must have six enhancement catalysts, as each enhancement piece must be catalyzed separately.

Standard and superior enhancements of the same type are mutually exclusive; a character cannot slot both Avalanche: Accuracy/Damage and Superior Avalanche: Accuracy/Damage. This means that set bonuses are limited; a character can get the first and second set bonuses twice (by slotting three standard pieces and three superior pieces), or the first set bonus twice and the second and third set bonus once (by slotting two and four pieces), but cannot get the third, fourth, and fifth bonuses from both sets. Note that the set bonuses for the standard and superior versions are different; the superior version grants higher bonuses.

Conversion

Enhancement Converters can be used to convert Winter Origin enhancements to a random enhancement from the same set, or a random enhancement from a different Winter Origin set.
