The '''Archetype''' is the most fundamental choice made while creating a character. It determines which powers are - and aren't - available for the lifetime of the character. Archetype, along with [[Origin]], [[Primary Power Sets]] and [[Secondary Power Sets]], cannot be changed after character creation.


Your archetype is arguably the most important choice you make while creating a hero or a villain. It determines which powers are—and aren't—available for you to use during the entire lifetime of your character. The decision of which archetype to play should be made based on what type of philosophy you wish to use for your character.
Each archetype will play slightly different than all other archetypes, even archetypes that utilize the same power sets. More information on an archetype's "style" can be found on each archetype page.
