Mu Mastery is one of the Patron Power Pools.

Scirocco will instruct you on the Way of Mu, ancient techniques that give access to the lightning-based powers of the ancient race.

Arachnos Patron RangedAoEModerateDmg.png Ball Lightning

Hurls a highly charged ball of Mu lightning that explodes on contact. Ball Lightning deals good damage in an area of effect, and drains some Endurance from each target it hits. You must be level 41 and have one of the following powers before selecting this power.

When you toggle on this power, you are surrounded by a charged field that makes you highly resistant to Smashing, Lethal, and Energy damage.

Arachnos Patron ConservePower.png Conserve Power

You can focus for a moment to Conserve your endurance. After activating this power, you expend less endurance on all other powers for a while. You must be level 41 and have Power Sink or Charged Armor before selecting this power.

Arachnos Patron TargetedHold.png Electric Shackles

Electric Shackles binds a foe's limbs, leaving the target Held and helpless. The target is drained of some Endurance and some of that Endurance may be transferred back to you. You must meet the following requirements before selecting this power:

Blasters: Two other Mu Mastery Powers (Level 44)

Defenders: Power Sink or Charged Armor (Level 41)

Scrappers / Stalkers: Mu Bolts or Zapp (Level 41)

Note: You cannot get Critical strikes using this power, though it still enables your other attacks to Critical.

The Electrifying Fences attempts to Immobilize a group of foes in an area. This power deals some Energy damage over time as it slowly drains some Endurance. You must be level 41 and have Static Discharge or Charged Armor before selecting this power (Blasters only).

You can quickly hurl small bolts of Mu electricity at foes, dealing some damage and draining some Endurance. Some of this Endurance may transfer back to you. Mu Bolts deals light damage, but recharges quickly.

Arachnos Patron PBAoEDrain.png Power Sink

Power Sink leeches Energy directly from the bodies of all nearby foes, draining their Endurance. Each foe you draw energy from increases your Endurance. If there are no foes within range, you will not gain any Endurance.

Scirocco has shown you how to call upon a mystical Mu Adept to assist you. The Mu pulse with the blood of their slaughtered ancestors in their veins, and are well practiced in the dark arts. Your access to this Adept is very limited. You can only summon him once every 15 minutes and he will leave after 4 minutes, or if you exit a zone or mission. You must meet the following requirements before selecting this power:

Blasters: Static Discharge or Charged Armor (Level 41)

Defenders / Scrappers / Stalkers: Two other Mu Mastery Powers (Level 44)

Arachnos Patron SelfBuffResistancePhysical.png Surge of Power

When you activate this power, you transform your body into living Electricity and become extremely resistant to all damage but Psionics, and your Endurance recovery is also increased. Expending all this energy will leave you exhausted, drained of all your endurance and unable to recover endurance for a short time. You must be level 41 and have Power Sink or Charged Armor before selecting this power.

Arachnos Patron MeleeTargetedAoE.png Thunder Strike

A massive attack. You smash your foes with all the power of a lightning bolt. The pummeled victim takes tremendous damage and may be Disoriented. Any nearby foes may be knocked down and take some damage from the shockwave, as well as have some endurance drained. You must be level 41 and have Thunder Strike or Charged Armor before selecting this power (Masterminds only).

A focused blast of Mu electrical energy that can travel great distances with high Accuracy. Zapp drains Endurance, some of which may transfer back to you. This is a sniper attack, and is best fired from a distance as it can be interrupted. If you are engaged in battle this attack becomes instant-cast. If you are not engaged, it will do bonus damage.

Historical

This section contains information about changes that took place in Homecoming: City of Heroes/Villains. It is provided for historical purposes.

  • This set was added to the game in Issue 7.
  • This set was included with the release of Arachnos Soldiers and Arachnos Widows in Issue 12.
  • Arachnos Soldiers, Arachnos Widows, and Brutes were granted access to Static Discharge in Issue 16.
  • This set was Proliferated to Hero Archetypes in Issue 18.
  • In Issue 21, All Epic Power Pools became accessible at level 35, and the level requirements for the powers were lowered to match.
