Overview

Dorjan, Counsel to Romulus is an Archvillain from the Cimeroran Traitors. He leads what remains of Requiem's faction of Nictus, and thus the Cimeroran Traitors, in the absence of Requiem and Romulus.

Both heroes and villains face him in the final mission of Sister Valeria's story arc, Glory and Dark Tidings.

Background

Dorjan was originally a Cimeroran general who served under both Imperious and Romulus, and was one of the first of Imperious's men to become a Nictus host. It is likely that he lured Romulus into becoming involved with the Nictus as well - perhaps by inducting him into the Path of the Dark, given his role in a tome from Colleen Nelson's story arc:

Dorjan did as the Emperor bid him, and led us down to the dark to meet these friends in darkness his family was supposed to have. We followed Dorjan deep underground through dark caverns until we found worked stone and great halls. Then there were movements in the shadows, and we all felt surrounded by spirits. A man came forth and welcomed Dorjan as a brother. He welcomed the Emperor to the halls of the Path of the Dark, and bid us enter. Then I saw that this man was not a man, nor were any of those who watched from the shadowed halls. I looked to Dorjan for guidance, as we had fought together and stood side by side. But now I saw that Dorjan was shifting form into a shape that was not his own.

I saw things moving in towards us. The Emperor exhorted them. Fear overcame me.

Through the darkness, I ran.

However, General Gorgidas (and/or Logic Knot, who may have been lying) claims that Requiem was responsible for corrupting Romulus, so it is unclear what actually happened.

After Romulus's defeat, Dorjan reappeared. According to Gorgidas:

General Gorgidas:

Dorjan must have known that his faith in Romulus was misplaced, and sought to rectify the state of affairs left in his absence. He rushed to us, like a hero with glorious purpose, speaking quickly and convincingly that the Dark Ones were not here to bring about the twilight of humanity, but to usher it into a new dawn... I followed the man I once loved as a leader and respected as a friend back into the foothills, where I was greeted by a camp of comrades a thousand strong, but changed. They burned with a fire in their soul that many of them never had before. They could... wield magic.

Romulus's Nictus Essences had coalesced with rare earth minerals to form the first Shadow Cyst Crystal, which Dorjan used to empower the Traitors with Nictus brought from their homeland. He later joined forces with Livia and her Ravenna Conclave, another name for the Path of the Dark cult, to learn how to mass-produce Shadow Crystals in the First Cyst's image; all other Shadow Crystals are based on its example. This allowed the Nictus to travel to Earth at faster-than-light speeds, paving the way for an invasion force as early as the Roman era.

Description

Dorjan is one of the first Cimerorans under Imperious' watch to be conjoined with a Nictus. In time, the honorable man he was became more and more jaded, disillusioned, and treacherous. After serving under and failing Romulus, Dorjan eventually became the contact person between the remnants of the Shadow Seeds that Requiem brought to Cimerora from the future, and the established Nictus homeland in the proper timeline. He is emboldened by his power and authority and should not be engaged alone.

Quotes

During the mission Glory and Dark Tidings - Finale: Ride of the Valkyrie:

Combat Start: No! I will not let you erase his legacy!
75% Health: The Essences were a gift, godling. A gift! And you crushed them and threw Romulus aside.
50% Health: In their death, they gave us this Cyst. In a way, I must thank you.
25% Health: Even now, should you succeed, the damage is done. We can make more seeds. Ha ha ha haaa!
On Defeat: Though I hate to do it, finding a new host will be irksome.

I will have my revenge, in this life or the next.
