Indigo and her partner Crimson are very different personalities but they make a deadly team.
Harvey Maylor is a loudmouth and a sensationalist, but he is on the hot on the trail [sic] of the Carnival of Shadows. He loves to work with heroes, especially ones skilled with magic, and can provide Relic and Focus Enhancements.
I hope you don't mind being on the cover of the Paragon Tattler, Character.
Unai Kemen is the Security Chief for the Portal Corporation. He is on the front line of the dimensional war. He can offer Gadget and Relic Enhancements.
The dimensional rips on Peregrine Island are increasing, Character.
Information
Former Heroine
In the early days of the Statesman's costumed career, he worked with a woman called Madame Danger. Maria Jenkins, as she called in her other identity, was his closest friend and confidant for many years. Slowly her powers began to fade with time but she was aging quite slowly. When she met Statesman in the 1930's she appeared to be in her mid twenties. Although she is retired, Maria certainly does not look over a hundred years of age. Maria has been out of the limelight for some time, but was one of the first to realize that Statesman was missing. This frightening conclusion has caused her to become more actively involved in things.

Badge Mission
Wipe out Marauder's Cell
Merit Rewards: This activity awards 2 Reward Merits through Flashback only.
Briefing
Hold onto your hat. I've got a lead on a Praetorian incursion into Paragon City itself. It seems that Marauder has set up a miltary base over on Peregrine Island! I don't have to tell you that there are a lot of valuable military targets on that island. Nor do I have to tell you how quickly this situation could become deadly. You've got to get to Peregrine Island and wipe out Marauder's cell.
Mission Acceptance
It may be that Marauder has a stable portal back to his home world. If so, you'll need to destroy it.
Unnecessary Solicitation
Marauder's infiltration cell is the single greatest threat to Paragon City security.
Mission Objective(s)
Scruff marks on the floor testify to lots of recent activity.
- Defeat all villains in base
- Destroy the portal!
You have dispersed Marauder's cell.

Badge
Completion of this mission earns a hero the Agent accomplishment badge.
You wiped out a cell of Marauder's forces right here in Paragon City.
Debriefing
From what I've heard, Marauder is the most dedicated of Tyrant's lackeys. It's disturbing that he found his way into Paragon City and went so far as to set up a base. I've asked Portal Corporation to keep a tighter lock on any unauthorized portal activity. In the meantime, I hope you'll be prepared to help me defend Paragon City from any future invasions.
Disrupt Nightstar's ritual
Merit Rewards: This activity awards 1 Reward Merit through Flashback only.
Briefing
Are you familiar with the Praetorian villain who calls herself Nightstar? I've heard some strange things about her. She's an intelligent robot, like Siege, but the difference is that she seems to be a little bit crazy. She believes that her power comes from a galaxy contained within her robotic armor. Every month, she goes out under the night sky to commune with the stars. If you could disrupt her ritual, her minions might start to doubt her. Even more importantly, she might start to doubt herself.
Mission Acceptance
You'll want to check the rooftops for Nightstar and her minions. That's where they can usually be found.
Unnecessary Solicitation

Debriefing
So, Nightstar really believes that she possesses the power of a galaxy. Well, I guess for all I know, it could be true. After all, there are more things in Paragon City than are dreamt of in your philosophy, Character. True or not, Nightstar will be licking her wounds for a time. You've weakened a big threat, my friend; you should be proud.

Part One: Fix the scanner
By now you know, Praetoria and it's tyrannical Emperor Cole is the single greatest threat to our dimension. Portal Corporation and Vanguard have been doing everything they can to combat that threat. Several heroes, including yourself, have been instrumental in the capture and containment of several of the Praetorian Guard: Anti-Matter, Neuron, Marauder, Nightstar, Battle Maiden, the list goes on and on. Unfortunately these villains can not be contained in a facility such as the Zig, as they have the resources of an entire dimension at their disposal. It seems that several powerful Loyalist members have taken the opportunity to break the Praetorian Guard out of prison and take them back to their home dimension.
This is unfortunate, but not completely unexpected. I had hoped we could keep them contained at least a little while longer.
A few weeks ago, Tina Macintyre had set up Dimensional Scanners in the forests of Praetoria, and these have been a godsend in our efforts. Vanguard has even been able to piggy-back communication intercept software onto those scanners, so we are getting a good idea on troop movements as well as the current political structure of Praetoria. However, one of those scanners has gone off-line and we need someone powerful to return to Praetoria and repair or replace it. Can you do this for us, Character?
- Fix the scanner
Just like last time, that place is crawling with Devouring Earth.
Unnecessary Solicitation
I need to know the status of that data scanner.
Mission Objective(s)
You are unsure which trees are trees, and which trees want to kill you.
- Repair or replace the scanner
- Set up the Scanner
- Defeat Chimera
- Set up the Scanner
You found the data scanner.
Enemies
Notable NPCs
Debriefing
So Chimera found one of our scanners? That is unfortunate. I wonder if he had time to tell the other Praetorians about it. Vanguard didn't pick up any such comminique, but Chimera has some undetectable communication methods.
Part Two: Check on the scanners
Damn, it looks like Chimera was able to get a signal off before you defeated him. All the scanners in Praetoria just died. We need to send you back to that forest and see what happened. It might be a jammer, or it might be that they destroyed them all.
If Emperor Cole is planning something big, we can't be blindsided. If the scanners are being jammed, find the source and unjam it. If they are destroyed or disabled, finish the job so they don't get their hands on any tech they might have left behind.
- Check on the scanners
I'd say those scanners are more trouble than they were worth, but they've kept us aprised of the situation in Praetoria for weeks.
Unnecessary Solicitation
We still don't know what's going on why all those data scanners went dead. Character, go find out!
Mission Objective(s)
No signs of any jamming signals. Looks like the scanners themselves have been compromised. Destroy them all.
- Check on the Dimensional Scanners
- Destroy the scanners! (Four scanners to destroy)
With the scanners destroyed, the Praetorians will not be able to reverse engineer them. One scanner could not be located however, it was simply... gone.
Enemies
There were five scanners in Praetoria, but only four could be located and destroyed. One of them is missing.
Debriefing
One scanner was missing? It's bound to show up sooner or later, and we'll have to deal with it. I hate the fact that we are blind to Praetoria right about now.
Part Three: Go to Praetoria and destroy the stolen scanner
Briefing
It seems that the lone scanner we couldn't locate just started transmitting again, only it's not in the forest, it's in Underground Praetoria. Looks like the militant arm of the Resistance has the scanner and are trying to figure out what to do with it. Of course, if the Praetorian Guard know this too, they'll send some of their best operatives to retrieve it from the Resistance. I need you to go and destroy that scanner, we can't let it fall into either group's hands.
- Go to Praetoria and destroy the stolen scanner
Those scanners were built with state of the art technology. There's no telling what the Praetorians can learn from it.
Unnecessary Solicitation
We can not let that scanner fall into enemy hands!
Mission Objective(s)
- Defeat Praetorians, destroy stolen scanner
- Defeat Nightstar
- Destroy the Scanner
- Defeat Nightstar
You have destroyed the Scanner that was stolen by the Resistance and defeated Nightstar.
Enemies
Notable NPCs
Debriefing
Excellent. We've destroyed all the scanners we've deployed to Praetoria. That is a huge relief. We had some tech in there that would be extremely dangerous in the hands of Neuron or Anti-Matter.
Part Four: Destroy all evidence of Vanguard's software
Briefing
Looks like I spoke too soon. Even though you destroyed all the scanners on Praetoria, Neuron got his hands on Vanguard's communication software. That's got a collapsing algorithm that he can use to piggy-back on our communications channels like we were doing to theirs, and that's not good. We need to get to Neuron's mainframe and remove all traces of that software. Vanguard is willing to offer up one of their best, Serpent Drummer, to assist in this mission. I am getting the coordinates to Neuron's lab now.
- Destroy all evidence of Vanguard's software
In Neuron's hands, that software is extremely dangerous. Purge every copy you can find.
Unnecessary Solicitation
Every second you waste is a day of research to a speedster like Neuron.
Delete Vanguard's Software
Mission Objective(s)
You hear a sound that strangely resembles a purr.
- Purge Software
- Delete Vanguard's Software
- Delete Backup File
- Delete Secondary Backup File
- Defeat Bobcat
- Delete Vanguard's Software
You defeated Bobcat and deleted the data.
Enemies
Notable NPCs
- Serpent Drummer (Vanguard Shield, Hero, Ally)
- Bobcat (Archvillain)
Bobcat mentioned that Praetor Berry, aka Neuron, was already using parts of Vanguard's code to get what he needs. You have no idea what that is though.
Go to Tina Macintyre with the information you have
Mission Objective(s)
- Go to Tina Macintyre with the information you have
Unnecessary Solicitation
Tina helped Vanguard put that software on those scanners, go talk to her.
Bobcat mentioned that Neuron was already using the software? Hmm, our communication channels might already be compromised. If I were you I'd portal directly into Neuron's HQ and stop whatever insane plan he has cooked up. We don't have time to piece together exactly what he might be doing. I am going to call Maria Jenkins and see if she'll send one of her personal friends along to help.
Defeat Neuron, purge software
Mission Objective(s)
The sweat on the back of your neck chills you as you step into the climate-controlled lab.
- Defeat Neuron, purge software
- Delete Vanguard's Software,
- Defeat Neuron
- Delete Vanguard's Software,
You defeated Neuron but learn that Emperor Cole already has some plan underway.
Unnecessary Solicitation
We need to know what Neuron is playing at!
Enemies
Notable NPCs
- Statesman (Freedom Phalanx, Hero, Ally)
- Neuron (Archvillain)
Neuron mentioned that his plan was already underway. Whatever he's up to, you are one step behind.
Debriefing
I am worried about what Neuron meant. If Emperor Cole is planning something, we defintely don't need it to be a surprise. Statesman tells me he has the entire Freedom Phalanx on ready-alert and investigating this matter as well.
Part Five: Investigate Warrior Earth
Briefing
I really wonder what Emperor Cole has up his sleeves. I mean, I want to think we stopped whatever plan he had cooked up, but I have a bad feeling that we may have just accelerated his time table.
Statesman has been doing some of his own investigation and believes that there is a clue to Cole's plan somewhere on Warrior Earth, the place where Battle Maiden and Valkyrie got their powers. He wants you to meet him there so he can assist your investigation.
- Go to Warrior Earth and meet Statesman.
Battle Maiden may be there, so you might want to bring other allies along with you.
Unnecessary Solicitation
Have you learned anything from Warrior Earth yet?
Investigate Warrior Earth
Mission Objective(s)
The sound of steel on steel quickens your heartbeat.
- Investigate Warrior Earth

You have recovered the Dimensional Resonator, you need to return this to Tina Macintyre.

Defeat Battle Maiden to gather info
Unnecessary Solicitation
Battle Maiden is our best shot at learning what Emperor Cole is up to
Mission Objective(s)
The caverns' air is ice cold; little thought is given to comfort in Battle Maiden's domain.
- Defeat Battle Maiden to gather info
- Defeat Battle Maiden
You have defeated Battle Maiden and learned a vital clue.
Enemies
Notable NPCs
- Statesman (Freedom Phalanx, Hero, Ally)
- Battle Maiden (Archvillain)
In the fight with Battle Maiden, she revealed that Emperor Cole was planning an attack on Primal Earth, possibly using other dimensions as staging areas.
Debriefing
Using other dimensions as staging grounds, eh? Doing that gives them even more of an edge against us. We're going to need to check out other dimensions that the Praetorians have access to.
Part Six: Save Portal Corporation
Briefing
Tina Macintyre and I were looking up those other dimensions that the Praetorians frequent. Nightstar has that nighttime dimension, and Black Swan has that version of the Shadow Shard she created. Tina said she opened a portal to Shadow World and a whole slew of those living shadow minions of Black Swan's streamed out. They are all over Portal Corporation causing all sorts of destruction and panic. I need you to get over there A.S.A.P. and stop those Shadows!
- Rescue Portal Corp from the shadow invasion!
Just check in with me to get over to Portal Corporation!
Unnecessary Solicitation
Portal Corporation is in trouble!
Mission Objective(s)
It's worse than you thought.
- Save Portal Corporation
- Destroy the portal device to Shadow Earth
You destroyed the portal and sealed the dimensional breach.
Enemies
Temporary Power:
Upon rescuing Gregor Richardson, players will receive the Fettering Nimbus temporary power.
- Gregor Richardson: "This should help you out, Character!"
Ranged, DoT (Energy), Target Immobilise, 75 Uses
MAGI's Galaxy City liaison Gregor Richardson has bestowed upon you a spell that brings forth a strange white light from your hands. This light is painful to the shadows, and can hold them in place while dealing Energy damage to them. There are 75 charges.
Debriefing
It's probably a good idea if you and Statesman check out the Shadow Earth of Black Swan's. If our suspicions are correct, we could be facing a massive invasion soon!
Part Seven: Go into the Shadow World
Briefing
Statesman called me. He wants to go with you to the Shadow World to determine exactly what Tyrant's, I mean Emperor Cole's, plan is. Go see Tina Macintyre, I'm giving her the heads up that you are both headed over there.
Shadow Earth is Black Swan's personal dimension. She created it using similar methods that the Midnight Squad created the Shadow Shard to imprison Rulaaru.
- Talk to Tina Macintyre about going to the Shadow World
Statesman's already on his way, you'd best not be late.
Unnecessary Solicitation
Tina just called. She's waiting for you.
Talk to Tina Macintyre
Mission Objective(s)
- Talk to Tina Macintyre
{{Mission Briefing|Contact=Tina Macintyre|Text=Ok, you're here. After last time we are not opening any portals to Black Swan's Shadow World without proper Hero support. Stateman has already gone through, he'll be waiting for you on the other side of the portal.
Meet up with Statesman
Mission Objective(s)
Statesman should have met you as you arrived. Something is wrong.
- Meet up with Statesman
- Look for clues
- Defeat Black Swan
- Look for clues
Black Swan's shadows have overpowered and taken Statesman, for what purpose you do not know.
This mission takes place in The Chantry, with the player arriving in the Bastion of Shame neighborhood. Players will find it difficult to navigate this map without the Flight travel power or a Jetpack.
The one and only clue (a portal) will be found in the Chantry proper (the big ball at the end of the map); which is where the player will also find Black Swan.
Enemies
Notable NPCs
You were ambushed by Black Swan's shadows, and after defeating them you noticed that a scrap of Statesman's cape was caught in the claw of one of the minions!
Debriefing
Marcus is gone?! If he's in the hands of Tyrant again, I don't know what I'd do. We need to get him back!
Part Eight: Find Statesman
Briefing
Sister Psyche thinks that Mother Mayhem's insanity may be behind Statesman's abduction. On Praetoria, Praetor Tilman, 'Mother', runs the Mother of Mercy Psychiatric Hospital. That is her public facing headquarters. Her nasty side shows up in her secret asylum. If they are going to try to pry secrets out of Marcus' brain, they'd do it there. Sister Psyche wants to team up with you and take down that asylum. She'll meet you on the other side of the portal.
- Search the asylum with Sister Psyche
Statesman and I used to adventure together, you know. If the Praetorians have done anything to him, they'll have me to deal with.
Unnecessary Solicitation
Have you found any sign of Statesman yet? Character, if they draw out any secrets from his mind we have to know!
Mission Objective(s)
Praetor Tilman, aka Mother Mayhem, creates her creepy Seers here.
- Find Statesman
- Find Statesman
- Defeat Malaise
- Defeat Mother Mayhem
- Find Statesman
You defeated Mother Mayhem and Malaise, and uncovered the fact that Statesman was worked on here, and that Infernal and Diabolique are somehow involved.
Enemies
Notable NPCs
You found a collection of vials labeled: Marcus Cole, Primal Earth, Spinal Fluid. Marcus Cole, Primal Earth, Blood. Marcus Cole, Primal Earth, Saliva.
Debriefing
I hate being one step behind like this.
Part Nine:Find Statesman
Briefing
Diabolique is Emperor Cole's personal ghost. She's bound to him and has no free will of her own, if she's involved then Emperor Cole is defintely pulling the strings. The Praetorian Infernal acts as her bodyguard on occassion, if they have Statesman, it's going to be a tough fight. I need you to get to Infernal's Lair and see if they have him.
Infernal keeps his lair in the tunnels system under Praetoria. You'll likely encounter Resistance as well, and they tend to shoot first and ask questions later.
- Search Infernal's lair for any sign of Statesman
Statesman is one of the greatest heroes I have ever met, and I've made the acquaintance of quite a few.
I'll call around and try to get you some backup.
Unnecessary Solicitation
Statesman may be in Infernal's torture chamber right this minute.
Mission Objective(s)
You can't tell in this light, but it's possible that the walls are stained with blood.
-
- Defeat Diabolique
- Defeat Infernal
- Defeat Diabolique
You defeated Infernal and Diabolique, and learned something of Emperor Cole's ultimate plan.
Enemies
Notable NPCs
- Ms. Liberty (Vindicators, Hero, Ally)
- Infernal (Archvillain)
- Diabolique (Archvillain)
Infernal taunted you throughout the battle with him. He mentioned that Statesman was in the hands of Dominatrix and Emperor Cole was extracting 'codes' from him. Also that Vanguard would be of no use. Perhaps this has something to do with the Vanguard code that was stolen?
Debriefing
If Statesman is in the hands of Dominatrix and Marauder, we have to make haste to rescue him. I will follow up with Vanguard on what Infernal might have been talking about.
Part Ten: Rescue Statesman from Marauder and Dominatrix
Briefing
I'm working the Vanguard angle that Infernal hinted at, but we need to get Statesman out of Dominatrix and Marauder's clutches. One of the Freedom Phalanx will meet you in Praetorian Earth to help you rescue Statesman.
- Go to Praetoria and rescue Statesman
Vanguard and I will work out the other half of this while you do the hard work.
Unnecessary Solicitation
Statesman isn't going to rescue himself. Well, he might, but he could probably use your help!
Mission Objective(s)
This is it. Find Statesman!
- Rescue Statesman from Marauder and Dominatrix
- Defeat Dominatrix
- Defeat Marauder
- Find Statesman
- Defeat Dominatrix
You have defeated Marauder and Dominatrix and stopped the infiltration plot!
Enemies
Notable NPCs
- Positron (Freedom Phalanx, Hero, Ally)
- Marauder (Archvillain)
- Dominatrix (Archvillain)
Debriefing
Excellent work, uncovering that Hyper Advanced Clockwork before it could infiltrate probably saved all of Paragon City and maybe even the entire planet. One last thing to do is find the real Statesman and I think I know just where he might be.
The Final Chapter: Rescue Statesman
A few years back when we first uncovered Praetoria, Statesman was kidnapped by Tyrant and held in bonds. We had a theory that Statesman and Tyrant were nearly identical and that lead us to believe that Statesman was powerless to their technology. What a load of bunk that turned out to be! We thought those bonds held him because of that theory, but we recently deduced that those bonds themselves are powered by the Praetorian Well of the Furies. They are the only thing in the multi-verse that can hold an Incarnate like Statesman.
If Emperor Cole is keeping Statesman alive, he'll have him in those exact same bonds. It's the only way he can keep him from escaping. If that's truly the case, we know exactly where to portal you in to save him.
- Free Statesman
I doubt Emperor Cole will show his face at this point, but the guards he will have placed will be very powerful. Good luck.
Unnecessary Solicitation
Paragon City needs Statesman, Character! And Statesman needs you!
Mission Objective(s)
- Rescue Statesman
You defeated the Olympian Guard and freed Statesman!
Enemies
Notable NPCs
- Manticore (Freedom Phalanx, Hero, Ally)
- Olympian Guard
- Statesman (Freedom Phalanx, Arch-villain, Hostage Ally)
Debriefing
You did it, Character! Statesman has been rescued! Character, I don't think I've ever been so proud!
Statesman sent this cape to you. He believes that you were insturmental in stopping a Praetorian invasion, something he and the Freedom Phalanx couldn't have done without your lead. Statesman isn't careless with his praise, Character; it seems pretty clear to me that he thinks the world of you.
Badge: Statesman's Pal
Missions
Battle the Praetorian threat
Note: This is usually the first mission that you receive from Maria.
Briefing
You may be aware, Character, that Portal Corporation has faced down some serious threats from the dimension they've designated Upsilon Beta 9-6. Otherwise known as Praetorian Earth. It's a dimension ruled by brutal supervillains who seem intent on claiming our world for their own. Portal scientists have done a lot of research into the Praetorian dimension, and they believe they've identified weaknesses for each of the Praetorian supervillains. I'm about to send you on some of the most critical missions you'll ever carry out. You've got to battle this new threat at it's source: Praetorian Earth.
The dangers you face on that world will be monstrous. I'd recommend always bringing a few friends along for backup.
Mission Acceptance
Your first task is to prevent the villain Infernal from summoning more demons to bind within his spectral armor. I need you to get to Infernal's lair and destroy his summoning altar.
Unnecessary Solicitation
You've got to prevent Infernal from summoning more demons!
Mission Objective(s)
The shadows that flit across the cavern walls seem somehow substantial.
- Defeat Infernal & his guards
- Destroy the summoning portal
You defeated Infernal and destroyed his summoning altar.
Enemies
Notable NPCs
Debriefing
I think they've sent me the right hero for this job, Character. In one mighty effort, you crippled the armies of Infernal, one of the biggest threats the Praetorians have to offer. I've got many more jobs like this for you, and not one of them is going to be easy. But I'm beginning to believe that you'll see them through to the finish.
Run a patrol for Warwork activity
Briefing
Tyra-, err 'Emperor Cole' has taken to sending scouts of his Warworks robots into Peregrine Island recently. I need you to run a patrol sweep, tagging the patrol boxes as you go, to check for any Warwork incursions.
- Run a patrol for Warwork activity
If you see anything, and I mean anything, we need to know about it.
Unnecessary Solicitation
You haven't completed that patrol yet.
Mission Objective(s)
- Patrol, watch for Warworks
- 5 locations to visit
You have ensured Peregrine Island's safety.
Debriefing
Thanks for doing your part to keep Peregrine Island safe. Make no mistake about it, if the Praetorians ever manage to mount an invasion, Peregrine Island will be ground zero. It's up to heroes like you to make sure they can't get a foothold on the area.
Take down Chimera at his training facility
Briefing
Chimera. Manticore's evil twin as it were. He's just as big a mystery in Praetoria as he is on this world, but a woman named Belladonna knows exactly where to find him. Turns out she used to be one of his assassins, but now she's part of the Resistance. We can portal you in directly into the training facility and you can take down Chimera and drag him back here for incarceration. Simple job, but he is extremely deadly, so bring some help.
- Take down Chimera at his training facility
Chimera's ninjas are stealthy and smart. You'll have to be the same if you want to succeed.
Unnecessary Solicitation
That training facility was still in operation last time I checked.
Mission Objective(s)
Chimera's training facility is hidden away in this forgotten graveyard.
- Defeat Chimera & his guards
You defeated Chimera.
Enemies
Notable NPCs
Chimera is always located on the central plateau. Defeating Chimera alone without defeating his guards (except perhaps the one immediately next to him) is sufficient to complete the mission.
Debriefing
That ninja camp you shut down was one of Praetorian Earth's best facilities for churning out smart, well-trained troops. With it gone, we can all breathe a little easier. We've got Chimera contained as best we can in the Zig. Some days I wish we could go back to the Cold Storage method of containing the really awful villains. It kept Reichsman off the street for the longest time.
Stop Mother Mayhem
Briefing
Sister Psyche's Praetorian counterpart is called Praetor Tilman by those who back Cole's regime, and Mother Mayhem by those who oppose it. The reason I'm telling you this is that SHE'S ATTACKING PARAGON CITY RIGHT NOW!
Sorry, I'm in sort of panic mode right this second. She's over in Waxahachie Business Park with a whole slew of those creepy Seers and IDF soldiers. I don't know what her ultimate plan is, but she's definitely up to something to come to our world. I need you to get to that business park and take her down. You are our best hope in stopping whatever she has cooked up.
- Stop Mother Mayhem
You'll need to take the Monorail to get to Waxahachie Park. Remember, Mother Mayhem's Seers are brainwashed psychics from Praetoria. Most of them don't even know a life outside of being one of her psychic puppets.
Unnecessary Solicitation
Waxahachie Park is still in the grip of Mother Mayhem and her Seers!
Mission Objective(s)
Upon exiting the monorail you have a splitting headache.
- Defeat Mother Mayhem
You defeated Mother Mayhem.
Enemies
Notable NPCs
Debriefing
Wow, Tilman must be desperate to come to Primal Earth looking for more psychics. I'll have to let the Resistance there know they are putting a dent in her armor. They need some good news right about now.
Prevent Shadowhunter's ressurection
Briefing
A while back we had intel on a Praetorian version of Woodsman called Shadowhunter. It seems that the Praetorian version's fate has caught up to that of his Primal counterpart and he's now dead. Killed by the Devouring Earth that rule the areas outside of Praetoria. Unfortunately this man killed tons of people and left thier bodies strewn throughout the forests, unconsecrated. Because of his nature, these bodies have the ability to ressurect him and he'll be a threat once again. I need you to go to Shadowhunter's former lair and consecrate the bodies strewn about there. Doing this will keep him dead a little while longer. Watch out for the Devouring Earth, they are just as vicious, if not moreso, in Praetoria.
- Go to Shadowhunter's lair and consecrate the bones
This may be a tactical strike, but it's also a mission of mercy. You'll be freeing many trapped and miserable spirits.
Unnecessary Solicitation
I need you to get to Shadowhunter's lair and consecrate those bone
Here's a bottle of holy water. Use it sparingly, Character; from what I understand, Shadowhunter has many victims.
This flask of water has been blessed by Father Hanrahan, one of Paragon City's many priests. By sprinkling it over the bones of Shadowhunter's victims, you can weaken the villain's power.
Mission Objective(s)
Shadowhunter dared to live out among the Devouring Earth. It was only a matter of time before he was caught and killed.

Good work, Character. We need to do this occassionally to prevent Shadowhunter's resurrection. I will seek out a more permanent solution.
Take down Nightstar
Briefing
Black Shroud Dimension
Are you familiar wiht the Praetorian version of Luminary? She calls herself Nightstar, and she's a self-aware robot like Siege, only she seems a little bit crazy. She believes her power comes from a place called 'the Black Shroud', another dimension that she recently gained access to.
We have gotten word from the resistance that she is making her monthly pilgramage to the Black Shroud dimension, and this would be a perfect time to strike, taking her down without fear of Praetorian reprisal. We need you to go to the Black Shroud dimension and take down Nightstar, can you pull this off for us, Character?
- Go to the Black Shroud dimension and take down Nightstar
You'll want to check the rooftops for Nightstar and her minions. That's where they can usually be found.
Unnecessary Solicitation
This is our best time to strike!
Mission Objective(s)
The Black Shroud dimension is cloaked in eternal night. Strange forces are at play here.
- Take down Nightstar
- Defeat Nightstar & her guards

With the release of Issue 19, many missions were revised by the developers (typically with briefings that more closely matched the new Praetorian content available with Issue 19).

Run a patrol for Praetorian activity
Briefing
Ever since the Praetorians first set eyes on our dimension, they've wanted it for their own. It's only through the constant vigilance of heroes like yourself that Peregrine Island, the heart of Portal Corporation, is kept safe. If the Praetorians manage to take over Portal, we'll have no defense against their dimensional incursions. I'd like you to run a sweep through Peregrine Island and make sure there's no Praetorian activity going on.
Mission Acceptance
If you see anything, and I mean anything, we need to know about it.
Unnecessary Solicitation
needs data
Mission Objective(s)
- Patrol, watch for Praetorians
- Visit 5 locations
Debriefing
Thanks for doing your part to keep Peregrine Island safe. Make no mistake about it, if the Praetorians ever manage to mount an invasion, Peregrine Island will be ground zero. It's up to heroes like you to make sure they can't get a foothold on the area.
Take down Chimera's training facility
Briefing
We've locked the primary facility where Chimera trains his ninja assassins. I'd like you to get in there and take down that training facility. You'd wipe out a good portion of Chimera's troops, while making it harder for him to train others. That's what I'd call a big coup.
Mission Acceptance
Chimera's ninjas are stealthy and smart. You'll have to be the same if you want to succeed.
Unnecessary Solicitation
needs data
Mission Objective(s)
Chimera's training facility is hidden away in this forgotten graveyard.
- Defeat Chimera & his guards
You defeated Chimera.
Enemies
Notable NPCs
Note: Chimera is always located on the central plateau. Defeating Chimera alone without defeating his guards is sufficient to complete the mission.
Debriefing
That ninja camp you shut down was one of Praetorian Earth's best facilities for churning out smart, well-trained troops. With it gone, we can all breathe a little easier. I imagine Chimera's catching the brunt of Tyrant's temper right now; I know I wouldn't want to be him tonight!
Stop Mother Mayhem
Note: As of Issue 14 this mission is indeed time limited, a two-hour counter begins once the mission is acccepted.
Briefing
On our world, Sister Psyche's one of the nicest women I know. But on Praetorian Earth, her alter-ego is known as Mother Mayhem. Rather than use her psychic powers for good, Mother Mayhem uses them to drive people insane! She triggers the rage center in their brains, turning them into deranged killing machines. I've got an urgent report from Portal Corporation; Mother Mayhem and a slew of her 'patients' have just beamed into a downtown area called Waxahachie Park. You've got to get over there and stop Mother Mayhem! Otherwise, the Waxahachie occupants may wind up dead! You only have 2 hours to deal with the situation.
Mission Acceptance
You'll need to take the Light Rail to get to Waxahachie Park. Remember, Mother Mayhem's minions are really just victims of her evil mind-control. Stop them, but don't do them harm.
Unnecessary Solicitation
needs data
Mission Objective(s)
- Defeat all villains in area - 2:00:00
Enemies
Notable NPCs
Debriefing
The police rounded up Mother Mayhem's minions and took them to the asylum. The doctors there hope that after a few weeks away form Mother Mayhem's influence, those poor people may start to regain their sanity. I'd say you did a good thing not just for Paragon City, but for the oppressed people of Praetorian Earth as well.
Go to Shadowhunter's lair and consecrate the bones
Briefing
Portal Corporation has located the stronghold of the Praetorian villain called Shadowhunter. It's a wooded thicket, where the bones of Shadowhunter's victims are kept, unburied and unconsecrated. Shadowhunter and his wolves draw their power from those bones, and from the restless spirits tied to them. If you could go to Shadowhunter's lair and consecrate the bones, you'll free the spirits of his victims. each spirit you free will weaken Shadowhunter and his minions.
There's a catch, though. If you don't manage to complete your mission quickly, Shadowhunter's wolves may get a chance to hide them. Then we'll never break his power. You only have 1 hour.
Mission Acceptance
This may be a tactical strike, but it's also a mission of mercy. You'll be freeing many trapped and miserable spirits.
Unnecessary Solicitation

Mission Objective(s)
- Defeat Shadowhunter & his wolves - 1:00:00
- 15 bones to consecrate

Good work, Character. It'll take Shadowhunter a long time to recoup the power you took from him. I suspect we won't be hearing from him for a while!
Shut down Black Swan's portal to the Shadow World
Briefing
The Praetorian Black Swan gains her powers from her dimension of origin, some sort of Shadow World. No one at Portal Corporation has yet been able to determine which dimension Black Swan comes from, but we know that that's where she finds her shadow soldiers. If you could shut down Black Swan's portal to Shadow World, you could prevent her army from growing any larger. Maybe you could even cut off her own power supply!
Mission Acceptance
The location of this Shadow World is a mystery Portal Corporation has been trying to plumb for some time.
Unnecessary Solicitation
I need you to shut down the portal linking Praetorian Earth to the Shadow World.
Mission Objective(s)
- Defeat Black Swan & her guards
- Destroy the portal
Enemies
Notable NPCs
Debriefing
We still haven't located Black Swan's Shadow World, but at least we've cut off her access to it for the time being. Good work, Character. I'm glad I've got you with me in the fight against the Praetorians.
Shut down Siege's factory
This is exciting, Character. We've got a lead on one of Siege's primary production facilities, the factories where he produces all his android minions. If you could get to Praetorian Earth and shut down Siege's factory, you'll be taking a lot of the bite out of his army. It won't be easy, Character. But I believe that if anyone can manage this, it's you.
Mission Acceptance
My sources have informed me that the facility has several power generators you'll need to disable.
Unnecessary Solicitation
If Siege is allowed to keep pumping out robots, Paragon City could have hard times ahead.
Mission Objective(s)
Siege's massive factory spouts great gouts of black smoke into the air.
- Defeat Siege & his guards
- Seek clues, 7 generators to destroy
You disabled Siege's factory and found some android parts.
Enemies
Notable NPCs
You recovered these android parts from Siege's production facility on Praetorian Earth. They should help the scientists of your world figure out how to best combat Siege's legions.
Debriefing
You've put a serious crimp in Siege's production. Even better, these android parts you found should give us a good idea of how to best battle Siege's android dopplegangers. Citadel's been cooperating with us in our analyses of the androids, but there are still a few enigmas we can't crack. Maybe now that'll change.
Stop the battle between Malaise and the Rikti
Briefing
The Rikti and the Praetorians may have the same goals in mind, but that doesn't make them friends. On the contrary. The Praetorians want to conquer Earth for themselves, so they're as interested in beating back the Rikti as we are. One of the Praetorians has cooked up an ingenious scheme for weakening the Rikti; Malaise plans to use some sort of drug to revert the converted Lost back to a more human state. He hopes to pit them against their Rikti masters and create chaos in the Rikti ranks.
As we speak, Malaise's forces are moving in on a Rikti base in the sewers. I need you to get to the sewers and stop the battle. Damage to the sewer system is a real health hazard, and there's also the risk that Malaise will reinforce his army with the converted Lost.
Malaise has the power to inflict his madness on others; most of his minions are deranged and unstable, just like the Lost themselves. In fact, if he manages to revert some of the Rikti converts to their Lost state, they should fit right into his army.
Unnecessary Solicitation
needs data
Mission Objective(s)
The gibbering voices of Malaise's crazed minions bounce eerily off the sewer walls.
- Defeat all villains in sewer
- 4 drug stashes to confiscate
You stopped the battle in the sewers.
Enemies
Notable NPCs
Malaise planned to use these drugs to reverse the mutations of the Lost who have become full-fledged Rikti. By converting these people back into the Lost, Malaise hoped to cause chaos within the Rikti ranks and perhaps create new soldiers to swell his army.
Debriefing
It's disturbing how twisted Malaise's minions really are. I can't help but feel sorry for them; after all, they were ordinary people until Malaise got his hooks into them. At least you prevented him from converting the Rikti into more followers for his cause.
Find out where Battle Maiden's troops are coming from
Find clue to Battle Maiden's plans
Briefing
We've learned that the Praetorian Battle Maiden is recruiting her troops from some other dimension. The problem is, we don't know which one. I need you to get to Praetorian Earth and infiltrate Battle Maiden's headquarters. See if you can find anything to indicate which world her troops are coming from. If we can cut off her supply, we may be able to keep her from posing a threat to Paragon City.
Mission Acceptance
If you find anything that might come from the world of Battle Maiden's troops, take it to Tina Macintyre. She may be able to get a dimensional trace on it.
Unnecessary Solicitation
We need to know where Battle Maiden's troops are coming from.
Mission Objective(s)
- Find clue to Battle Maiden's plans
You found a clue to the source of Battle maiden's troops
Enemies
Take stone to Tina Macintyre
Unnecessary Solicitation
Tina Macintyre needs to see those stone shavings. She may be able to figure out their dimension of origin.
Mission Objective(s)
- Take stone to Tina Macintyre
It certainly does look as though Battle Maiden is originally from this Warrior Earth. I wonder how she won a spot for herself among the Praetorians? If I had to guess, I'd say it was for her viciousness in battle. That's a trait that certainly seems to be valued in Praetorian society.
Let me see those stone shavings. Well, it's weak, but I've got a dimensional trace. I'll tell the technicians to open up a portal to Warrior Earth for you. Once you're there, you'll need to stop Battle Maiden from recruiting more troops
Defeat Battle Maiden & her guards
Unnecessary Solicitation
Battle Maiden can't be allowed to swell her army! She's already dangerous enough as it is!
Mission Objective(s)
- Defeat Battle Maiden & her guards
- Destroy the last weapons!
You defeated Battle Maiden.
Enemies
Notable NPCs
Debriefing
By destroying those weapons, you upset Battle Maiden's delicate negotiations. I think it's safe to say that Warrior Earth won't be sending any more troops her way, at least for a while. From what we can tell of that world's warriors, not one of them wants to join up with a losing team.
Rescue spirits from Diabolique
Briefing
The Praetorian Diabolique gains her power by controlling the spirits of the dead. I've got it on good authority that she's performing such a summoning in a graveyard on Praetorian Earth within the next few hours. If you could stop her before she enslaves the spirits in that graveyard, you'll have struck a solid blow in the figh tot keep Paragon City safe. You only have 2 hours to stop the summoning.
Mission Acceptance
It's hard to believe that Numina's alternate self can be so evil.
Unnecessary Solicitation
needs data
Mission Objective(s)
- Defeat Diabolique & her guards - 2:00:00
- Rescue 3 spirits
Failure - needs data
Success - You defeated Diabolique and rescued the spirits she planned to enslave.
Enemies
Notable NPCs
- Ghost x 3 (non-escort Hostages)
- Diabolique (Archvillain)
Spending time in this zone earns the Shrouded Badge.
This otherworld has been overshadowed by corrupting magic.
A trip back to Paragon City confirmed it: You're the shady type of person other people are right to be afraid of.
Debriefing Mission Failure
needs data
Debriefing Mission Successful
Diabolique's spectral forces remain a force to be reckoned with, but at least you kept her from swelling their ranks. And you helped some people, too. Or should I call them ghosts? Spirits? Whatever you call them, you kept them free from Diabolique's rule. I'd say that's what being a hero is all about.
Defeat Dominatrix and confiscate the Fixadine
Defeat Dominatrix & her minions
Briefing
Today I've got a chance for you to not only strike the Praetorians, but also do some good for this world. I've received word that the villain Dominatrix is having a rave in a warehouse on Praetorian Earth. Her guests will be enjoying all the most extravagant debauchments Praetorian Earth has to offer, including a drug called Fixadine. Sound familiar? That's because it's the Praetorian version of Superadine. I need you to defeat Dominatrix and confiscate the Fixadine. Can you do it?
Acceptance
Fixadine and Superadine have some subtle molecular differences. Dr. Steve Sheridan believes he can use the Fixadine in his ongoing efforts to cure the Trolls of their Superadine-induced mutations. Once you've got the drug, get it over to him.
Unnecessary Solicitation
I'm glad to see that you don't have any quit in you, Character.
Mission Objective(s)
The sound system booms out a crazy punk beat.
- Defeat Dominatrix & her minions
- Find the drugs!
You defeated Dominatrix and confiscated her Fixadine.
Notable NPCs
This Praetorian drug is quite similar to your world's Superadine, but there are certain subtle molecular differences. These differences could help Dr. Steven Sheridan isolate the components of Superadine that turn its users into Trolls.
Take Fixadine to Dr. Sheridan
Unnecessary Solicitation
needs data
Mission Objective(s)
- Take Fixadine to Dr. Sheridan
Ah, the Fixadine. Good. This should help my Superadine studies tremendously. Thank you.
Debriefing
Great job. Just terrific. Not only did you do something good for science, you also weakened Dominatrix's hold over her minions. Dominatrix leads through the strength of her personality and her followers' blind faith. Now that you've made her look weak before them, I doubt it'll be easy for her to maintain her position.
Trivia
- Maria's grandson Chris Jenkins is featured on some of Paragon City's billboards.
