Overview

Weapon Customization is a system released with Issue 11 where players can select the look of drawn weapons for those power sets that use drawn weapons. Weapon Customization is essentially a costume option that is only available to certain powersets. Changing your weapon model in no way changes the effects of the powers that use them.

The weapons that can be changed are: Assault Rifle, Mercenaries' Rifle, Battle Axe, Archery and Trick Arrow Bows, Broad Sword, Claws, Dual Blades, Katana, Ninja Blade, War Mace, Robotics' Pulse Rifle, and Thugs' Dual Pistols.

All weapons are selectable individually, including any dual-handed weapon sets being able to select different weapons in each hand. For instance, a Thugs/Trick Arrow Mastermind is able to select left hand pistol, right hand pistol, and bow separately.

There are many available choices for individual weapon selections, including a number taken from the various in-game NPCs. The majority of possible selections are available to the appropriate ATs at creation time. Many selections need to be unlocked before they can actually be used. These unlockable models are primarily weapons linked to particular NPC groups. Unlockable weapons have the potential to be unlocked by any method that can currently unlock costume pieces, including as recipe drops; however, currently, unlockable weapons are linked to obtaining certain badges, with the exception of the Vanguard related weapons that are craftable at the Vanguard Invention Tables with Vanguard Merits.

In the list below, Default models are ones that are available at character creation. Unlockable models must be unlocked via game-play.[1].

Additionally, Shield Customization is available for Shield Defense, and Power Customization is available for weaponless powersets.
