Opportunity is a resource used by Sentinels to activate their inherent Vulnerability debuff power.

Opportunity builds at a rate of 100% per minute. Vulnerability costs 50% to use.

History

This article or section contains information that no longer applies to the current version of Homecoming: City of Heroes/Villains. It is provided for historical purposes.

Issue 27 Page 5 implemented the current version of Opportunity and Vulnerability. Previously, Opportunity was a selection of two different self-buff modes, automatically activated by using a tier 1 or tier 2 blast with a full Opportunity meter.

Description

By carefully striking at their foes, Sentinels work towards creating opportunistic attacks that can weaken their foes or grant themselves a chance to recoup. Any enemy that a Sentinel focuses attacks on will be easier to hit and will suffer an additional 5% damage from incoming attacks. Multiple Sentinels can work together to make this effect stronger. Occasionally, the Sentinel may find an extreme vulnerability in a target that can be exploited to deliver up to 25% additional damage against it for a limited time. Only one such extreme vulnerability may be exploited at a time.

Detail

Sentinels' attacks inflict a small defence and resistance debuff on any enemy. A Sentinel's "Opportunity" bar will fill up as the Sentinel attacks; when full, the Sentinel can use either their first or second primary power to inflict a much larger resistance debuff on a single target. If the first power was used, the Sentinel's own damage is increased; if the second was used, the Sentinel's health and endurance increases as they attack subsequently. In either case the boost lasts for 15 seconds.
