Paragon Rewards Program

Overview

The Paragon Rewards Program was introduced to take over from the Veteran Rewards Program. Instead of granting a specific reward every three months, it allows a player to choose which reward they want out of a tier-restricted "tree" of rewards by spending Reward Tokens.

The Paragon Rewards Program includes powers, costume pieces, base items and other additional gameplay perks. It also allows Premium Players to access to game features otherwise restricted to VIP subscribers or purchases on the Paragon Market. Content and features unlocked via Paragon Rewards stay unlocked for that account, regardless of subscription status, except for Tier 9 VIP rewards.

Paragon Rewards Meter

Next to the Paragon Rewards there will be a vertical meter (it looks like a thermometer!) with a large number of notches. There will be two types of notches small and large. Small notches simply award an existing Veteran Reward badge, while Large notches symbolize unlocking a new set of permissions and a Veteran badge. These badges are given out in the order in which they were intended to be distributed originally plus 1 additional new badge at the bottom. Each time the player acquires a Paragon Reward Token, the user's Reward Meter will move up a single notch.

The player can mouse over each notch to see which badges and permissions will be unlocked when they achieve that level of notches. A small arrow will appear and point to the notch and coming from the arrow will be the tool tip with this information. These arrows will snap to the notches on the meter. Additionally, we will be updating the meter along the right hand side of this interface to represent Paragon Reward Tokens earned versus spent, earned will be shown by the yellow meter and will drive which permissions and badges are earned prior to Tier 9, the red will indicate how many tokens have been spent prior to Tier 9.

Converting from Veteran Rewards Program

NOTE: All rewards already unlocked with the original Veteran Rewards Program will be automatically selected by the Paragon Rewards Program, even if the reward has been moved beyond the tier an account is able to access.

For a veteran from before City of Heroes Freedom launch, you can simply add up your veteran rewards badges, add one additional token for every complete year subscribed (every four badges), plus one for having an account, and plus one token if a retail code has been applied to your account (ONE TOKEN TOTAL, not one per retail code). To clarify the previous statement, players who started with a Buddy Code from Valentine's Day 2006 theoretically can have never applied a retail code, and still have a valid account. Additionally, after Freedom launches, retail codes are no longer required to play the game. For other ways to earn tokens, see Reward Token Acquisition.

You can find the number of tokens you are entitled to by finding your highest veteran reward on the following table, add one for having an account, then add one if your account has a retail code.

Owning (but not necessarily slotting) the number of tokens to complete a tier opens that tier's rewards permissions.

Rewards Tiers

Tiers are composed of one to seven reward slots, which include previous Veteran Rewards Program items and new items. It also includes a set of Tier 9 VIP rewards at that are restricted to VIP subscribers. Players can choose rewards in any order they wish within a tier. In order to advance to the next tier of rewards, a player's current rewards tier must be completely slotted.

Tier 1

• Badges in this level:
  • Rookie (1 reward token earned)

Rookie

• Placing a reward token in this slot grants the following character item certificate: Mission Teleporter temporary power with 5 charges
• Placing a reward token in this slot grants the following account item certificates: Two certificates for one Random Dual Inspiration (small, medium or large) and one certificate for the XP Booster temporary power

Reward Level 1

• Unlock Requirement: One reward token earned.
• Free Players occupy this tier
• Owning one Reward Token grants the following to Free Players: A total of two Character Slots across all servers, Access to Local, Team, Help, Friends, League, Arena, Leveling Pact, Looking for Group, Emote, and Architect Communication Channels, Reward Drops including small Inspirations, Training [TO], Dual-Origin [DO], Single-Origin [SO] and Special Enhancements, an Inf Cap of 25 million inf per character and Limited Inventory (?)

Tier 2

• Badges in this level:
  • Trustworthy (2 reward tokens earned)

Trench Coats

• Placing a reward token in this slot grants the following automatically to all characters: Trench Coats costume piece
• Placing a reward token in this slot grants the following character item certificates: One Tailor Token and the Experienced Temporary Power with 5 charges

Reward Level 2

• Unlock Requirement: Two reward tokens earned.
• Owning two Reward Tokens grants the following to Premium Players: Ablity to join Supergroups, Access to Tell, Supergroup, and Coalition Communication Channels, Mail System Access, Player-to-Player Trading, Increased Inf cap of 500 million per character, Play stories within the Mission Architect (no rewards), +2 Salvage Inventory, +1 Recipe Inventory

Tier 3

• Badges in this level:
  • Faithful (3 reward tokens earned)
  • Dependable (4 tokens)
  • Loyal (5 tokens)

Greek Symbols

• Placing a reward token in this slot grants the following automatically to all characters: Greek Alphabet Chest Emblems costume pieces
• Placing a reward token in this slot grants the following character item certificate: One Tailor Token
• Placing a reward token in this slot grants the following account item certificates: Two certificates for one random Dual Inspiration (small, medium or large) and two certificates for one random Team Inspiration (medium, medium dual, large or large dual)

Shirts and Kilts

• Placing a reward token in this slot grants the following automatically to all characters: Belly Shirts (female) and Scottish Kilts (male) costume pieces
• Placing a reward token in this slot grants the following character item certificates: One Tailor Token and one character Respec

Weapons and Sprints

• Placing a reward token in this slot grants the following character item certificates: Melee Weapon Choice (Ghost Slaying Axe or Sands of Mu), Prestige Sprints (Rush, Dash, Quick and Surge) and the Wall Mounted Weapon Displays base item

Reward Level 3

• Unlock Requirement: 5 reward tokens earned.
• Owning 5 Reward Tokens grants the following to Premium Players: Access to all Communication Channels including Broadcast, Request and Global Chat Channels, Increased Inf cap of 1 million per character, +3 Salvage Inventory, +3 Vault Inventory, +1 Recipe Inventory

Tier 4

• Badges in this level:
  • Zealous (6 reward tokens earned)
  • Staunch (7 tokens)
  • Steadfast (8 tokens)

Wings

• Placing a reward token in this slot grants the following automatically to all characters: Angelic Wings and Demonic Wings costume pieces
• Placing a reward token in this slot grants the following character item certificate: One Tailor Token
• Placing a reward token in this slot grants the following account item certificate: One certificate for the Experienced Temporary Power with 5 charges

Samurai Armor

• Placing a reward token in this slot grants the following automatically to all characters: Samurai Armor costume pieces
• Placing a reward token in this slot grants the following character item certificate: One Tailor Token

Shoulder Capes

• Placing a reward token in this slot grants the following automatically to all characters:Shoulder Capes costume piece

Signature Chest Emblems

• Placing a reward token in this slot grants the following automatically to all characters: Signature Chest Emblems costume pieces
• Placing a reward token in this slot grants the following character item certificates: One Tailor Token and Signature Character Items base items

Vanity Pets

• Placing a reward token in this slot grants the following character item certificates: Non-Combat Pet Choice (Demon Pet, Clockwork Pet, Redcap Pet, Rikti Monkey Pet, Robot Pet) and Arachnos Flyer and Longbow Chaser base items

Base Teleporter

• Placing a reward token in this slot grants the following automatically to all characters: Veteran Titles for level 15 characters
• Placing a reward token in this slot grants the following character item certificates: Emergency Base Teleporter power and Posters of the City of Heroes comic book covers base items
• Placing a reward token in this slot grants the following account item certificate: One certificate for a Windfall Temporary Power with one charge

Ranged Powers

• Placing a reward token in this slot grants the following automatically to all characters: Ranged Weapon Choice (Nemesis Staff or Blackwand)
• Placing a reward token in this slot grants the following character item certificate: One character Respec
• Placing a reward token in this slot grants the following account item certificate: One certificate for the XP Booster temporary power with one charge

Reward Level 5

• Unlock Requirement: 13 reward tokens earned.
• Owning 13 Reward Tokens grants the following to Premium Players: Access to Controller and Mastermind Archetypes, +3 Salvage Inventory, +3 Vault Inventory, +2 Recipe Inventory, +1 Auction House Slot

Helmets

• Placing a reward token in this slot grants the following automatically to all characters: City of Villains Pre-Order Helmets costume pieces
• Placing a reward token in this slot grants the following account item certificate: One certificate for the XP Booster temporary power with one charge

Blazing Path Aura

• Placing a reward token in this slot grants the following automatically to all characters: Blazing Path Aura costume piece
• Placing a reward token in this slot grants the following character item certificate: One character Respec
• Placing a reward token in this slot grants the following account item certificate: One certificate for the XP Booster temporary power with one charge

Tailor Discount

• Placing a reward token in this slot grants the following automatically to all characters: 50% discount on all tailor sessions
• Placing a reward token in this slot grants the following account item certificates: One certificate for a Prestige Booster Temporary Power with one charge and two certificates redeemable for one piece of Enhancement Unslotter salvage

Combat Pets

• Placing a reward token in this slot grants the following character item certificate: Pet Choice (Light Fairy, Dark Fairy, Blue Wisp, Red Wisp, Shield Oscillator, Power Oscillator, Shield Drone or Power Drone)
• Placing a reward token in this slot grants the following account item certificates: Two certificates for one random Team Inspiration (medium, medium dual, large or large dual)

Attack Powers

• Placing a reward token in this slot grants the following character item certificates: Attack Power Choice (Ghost Slaying Axe, Sands of Mu, Nemesis Staff or Blackwand)
• Placing a reward token in this slot grants the following account item certificates: One certificate for a Windfall Temporary Power with one charge and two certificates redeemable for one piece of Enhancement Booster salvage

Assemble the Team

• Placing a reward token in this slot grants the following character item certificate: Assemble the Team power
• Placing a reward token in this slot grants the following account item certificates: Two certificates for one random Team Inspiration (medium, medium dual, large or large dual) and two certificates redeemable for one piece of Enhancement Unslotter salvage

Reward Level 6

• Unlock Requirement: 20 reward tokens earned.
• Owning 20 Reward Tokens grants the following to Premium Players: Lifetime access to all aspects of Mission Architect (create, test, publish [includes three story slots] and play), +3 Salvage Inventory, +3 Vault Inventory, +1 Recipe Inventory, +1 Auction House Slot

Tier 7

Signature Summon

• Each time a reward token is placed in this slot it grants the following account item certificate: Signature Summon temporary power with 5 charges

Windfall

• Each time a reward token is placed in this slot it grants the following account item certificates: Eight certificates for the Windfall temporary power

XP Boosters

• Each time a reward token is placed in this slot it grants the following account item certificates: Eight certificates for the XP Booster temporary power

Unslotters

• Each time a reward token is placed in this slot it grants the following account item certificates: Eight certificates for one piece of Enhancement Unslotter salvage

Enhancement Boosters

• Each time a reward token is placed in this slot it grants the following account item certificates: Eight certificates for one piece of Enhancement Booster salvage

Tier 9 VIP

Celestial Pack I

• Placing a reward token in this slot grants the following automatically to all characters: Head and Upper Body Celestial costume pieces
• This pack is available exclusively for VIP subscribers

Celestial Pack II

• Placing a reward token in this slot grants the following automatically to all characters: Lower Body and Back Celestial costume pieces
• This pack is available exclusively for VIP subscribers

Celestial Pack III

• Placing a reward token in this slot grants the following automatically to all characters: Aura and Weapon Celestial costume pieces
• This pack is available exclusively for VIP subscribers
