Death from Below (DfB) is a "sewer trial" introduced in Issue 21 available to both Heroes and Villains, but not Praetorians. When enough players are queued, they will be teleported to the beginning of the trial, which begins with defeating Hellions. Characters are exemplared to level 2 initially, which increases with each cleared section, to a maximum of level 6. | |||
At the beginning of each section, a Longbow Hazard Trainer is present to provide training to heroes, and a Recon Arbiter for villains. Additionally, after defeating a boss, a portal opens up between the entrance and the beginning of the next section, allowing any defeated heroes or villains to teleport to that section instead of having to run through each of the segments to get to where their team is fighting. Death from Below (DfB) is a "sewer trial" introduced in Issue 21 available to both Heroes and Villains, but not Praetorians. This trial can be run at any level and provides exceptional rewards, including experience point bonuses and Single Origin Enhancements, making it an excellent and popular tool for players looking to level new characters quickly.
This trial in some ways replaces the Sewer Network, which was similar but completely unstructured. The Sewer Network is still available for players who wish to adventure there. Players can queue individually or in groups for Death from Below via the Team-Up Teleporter in the LFG Window, a selection on the Chat Window.
It is very common for a low level character to gain several levels from one run of Death from Below. Defeated heroes and villains show up at the beginning of the first section. Additionally, after defeating a boss, a portal opens up between the entrance and the beginning of the next section, allowing any defeated heroes or villains to teleport to that section instead of having to run through each of the segments to get to where their team is fighting. With each boss defeat, the portal changes to drop characters at the section after the last boss defeat.
While not technically cooperative play, the trial is the same for both heroes and villains except for who assists by caption popups. Note that vigilantes may not participate in villain sewer trials, and rogues may not participate in hero sewer trials.

Atlas Park
Good to see you, Character. We've got some major problems in the sewers beneath Atlas and we could use your help. Longbow is stretched thin due to the Galaxy City incident.
There are several villain groups who have made the sewers their home. That much isn't new. However, what is new is the emergence of creatures called the Hydra. Before, they were contained within the deepest part of the sewers, but we have word that these monsters have moved up.
We need heroes such as yourself to go down there and destroy those Hydra, or else they could cause the entire city to collapse on itself!
To access the trial, Death from Below, click on the LFG tab on your chat window, then select the appropriate trial to enter into a queue to join it. The trial can be started with as few as 4 people and as many as 8 people.
Players who complete the trial will receive a bonus to their overall damage, defense, accuracy, or recovery for a week or until they reach level 22.
Mercy Island
Arachnos has discovered that the heroes of Atlas Park have a little situation on their hands. There are creatures called the Hydra who are making their way up the sewer system. Normally, we would simply let them destroy any parts of Paragon City that they can. However, Arachnos is interested in salvaging the powers of these Hydra.
We believe their chemicals can be useful in increasing the powers of those exposed to it, which is why you and I are currently speaking. Arachnos can help you and a team of cohorts get into the sewers of Atlas. All you have to do is make your way down to the bottom and destroy the Hydra. From there, we will recover their chemicals and give you all several samples to increase your own powers, to use against the heroes of Paragon, of course.
