* The site has recently changed hosting providers. This process should be rather transparent, as everything works as it did before. There is one change, however: the site URL has now changed to http://paragonwiki.com. The old site (<nowiki>http://www.pcfreepress.com/wiki</nowiki>) is redirecting to the new site, so all old links will still work, but please use the new URL going forward.

* Yes, we do stay on top of everything! Within hours of the [[Valentine's Day Event 2006]], Paragon Wiki had articles about the event itself and the two badges ([[Heart of Light Badge|Heart of Light]] for heroes and [[Heart of Darkness Badge|Heart of Darkness]] for villains)!

* Thanks to the dedicated efforts of [[User:StarGeek|StarGeek]] and [[User:Yakovlev|Yakovlev]], there is a ton of new content about villain groups in the wiki. Check out the [[:Category:Enemies|Enemies category]] for the list of enemies, expanding daily through the hard work of these users.

==== Site Listed on Fansite Portal ====

This site was submitted to the official [http://www.cityofheroes.com/community/fansites_info.html Fan Site Portal] at the same time that the new Heroic theme was rolled out. Today, one of the members of the CoH Web Team (Awry) sent the following message:

"After careful review we thought your site looked great and has been approved. It should be up very shortly. Thanks for submitting!"

==== User Database Integration Testing Completed ====

Final testing of the user database integration between MediaWiki and phpBB has been completed, and by Sunday, March 13, 2006, all user account validation will be checked against the PC Free Press/Paragon Wiki forums user database instead of the wiki maintaining its own separate user databse. Wiki users will be forced to create a forums account in the process, but this change will enable users to maintain the same username and password between the wiki and the forums instead of having two separate accounts.

A notice has been placed at the top of the front page of the wiki to alert users of the change.

==== New Heroic Wiki Skin Implemented ====

Changes are afoot! There is a new skin called "Heroic," and it has been set to the default skin of the wiki. All existing accounts have also been switched over to the new skin. If you prefer the old skin, simply go to your Preferences under the Skin settings, and set your skin back to MonoBook.

The changes are purely cosmetic and do not affect the look or feel of the actual wiki content, merely the outer navigational, header, and footer appearance. If you experience any difficulties with this skin or you have any comments or questions, please post a message on the [http://paragonwiki.com/forums wiki forums] and let me know. Otherwise, enjoy!

==== Software Upgrade ====

The Paragon Wiki has been [[Special:Version|upgraded]]! This weekend, after extensive testing and and development of software installations and automation scripts, the MediaWiki software that runs the Paragon Wiki was upgraded from verstion 1.4.9 to version 1.5.6. (If interested in the technical details, please see the [http://sourceforge.net/project/shownotes.php?release_id=386609 MediaWiki release notes].)

When all was said and done, the upgrade went very quickly and smoothly. The wiki was down from 3:20 am EST until 3:23 am EST. For a pretty major upgrade, that's not bad at all. Still, if you notice any glitches or problems, please e-mail [mailto:tonyv@pcfreepress.com tonyv@pcfreepress.com] or post a message on our [http://pcfreepress.com/forums/ forums].

If you happened to try to access the wiki between 3:20 am EST and 3:23 am EST early Monday morning, I apologize for the inconvenience.

==== City of Villains Exploration Badges Complete ====

Hey all, a rather intensive effort over the past couple of days to document and audit all of the City of Villains [[CoV_Exploration_Badges|Exploration Badge articles]] is complete. In addition to the normal wiki information fare, each article has got the badge description, a detailed explanation of how to get to the badge, and an in-game picture showing you ''exactly'' where the badge is. Also, each has been formatted according to a rational standard and categorized correctly.

==== Valentine's Day Event 2006 Wrapping Up ====

If you have not participated in the [[Valentine's Day Event 2006]] activities, you should be sure to log on now. The event wraps up the morning of Wednesday, February 22, 2006, so you only have a little time left!

=== February 8, 2006 ===

==== Valentine's Day Event 2006 ====

Wow, a brand new unpublished event was sprung on us today! At midnight Eastern (for the east coast servers) and 9 pm Pacific (for the west coast servers), heroes and villains who logged in received a new costume part and an accolade! Read more about the event in the [[Valentine's Day Event 2006]] article!

Welcome

Welcome to the Unofficial Homecoming Wiki, a central repository of all things related to Homecoming: City of Heroes, a superhero-themed MMORPG.

City of Heroes is home to an entire multiverse of superpowered beings in a stunning, 3D graphical world. Players take on the roles of heroes, villains, vigilantes, and rogues, while both saving and destroying worlds. City of Heroes was known for its groundbreaking level of customization, its highly community-focused features, and its abundant developer-player interaction and feedback. Homecoming: City of Heroes has been in operation since April 2019 with a wide variety of quality-of-life features such as custom XP rates, alignment switching at will, all costume parts available on character creation, all vestiges of the Paragon Store removed, and a new player archetype, Sentinels. On January 2024, Homecoming was licensed as a private server for City of Heroes. Homecoming has five player shards, four testing shards, and the largest community of players today.

This wiki is a fork of the Paragon Wiki, a community effort created and maintained by more than two thousand volunteers since 2005.

Contributing to the Wiki

We welcome any content you're able to add, fill in, or revise, especially to reflect changes from the original game.

Getting familiar with the Article Guidelines and the Help pages prior to contributing makes a big difference in helping a new editor get settled. A lot of wiki syntax assistance can be found in the Help pages.

Don't know where to start? A good place to begin is by editing articles that are designated as stubs, incomplete, or works in progress. These articles need anything from minor tweaks to major overhauls, and anything you have to add would be appreciated! Once you're comfortable, you can take a look at the Wanted Pages, a list of linked-to articles that don't yet exist.
