Today, I received an e-mail from a psychology researcher for the University of Queensland, Australia conducting a study on social aspects of online game play such as how people

adjust to playing a new game and how they come to identify with their new

character.  To encourage players to take part, they are raffling 12 free months of gameplay to one of the participants.  If you are interested in taking the survey, visit the [http://www.psy.uq.edu.au/webq/public/survey.php?name=City_of_Villains_Survey survey site].  I've also added a site link on the left in the "links" list.

I've updated the [{{CoVMapPatchLatest}} downloadable in-game maps] to version 0.4. There were a few minor additions and an icon added to aid in getting the [[Sweet Tooth Badge]] in Cap au Diable.  Currently, only the big four maps are included (Breakout, Mercy Island, Port Oakes, and Cap au Diable) plus Bloody Bay, but very soon I plan on releasing version 1.0, which will include all known information about all city zones.  Stay tuned!

==== A shorter URL ====
</div>

I have added '''<nowiki>http://wiki.pcfreepress.com</nowiki>''' to be redirected to this site.  This may make it a little easier to give the URL out in-game.  The old URL of '''<nowiki>http://www.pcfreepress.com/wiki</nowiki>''' will continue to work as well, in case anyone has the site bookmarked.

==== Please direct people to this site ====

Speaking of giving out the URL in-game, if you find this wiki useful, please refer people to it in-game.  I don't derive any financial profit from raising traffic at the site (in fact, it could eventually end up costing me a little more money if throngs of people flock here), but as a stereotypical geek, it makes me all warm and gooey inside when I see good numbers of visitors each month coming to see what's here.

==== News Archive Added ====

The news section was just plain getting too long.  I have added a [[Archived News]] page to save these items in.  I will leave the latest one or two things here.

Welcome

Welcome to the Unofficial Homecoming Wiki, a central repository of all things related to Homecoming: City of Heroes, a superhero-themed MMORPG.

City of Heroes is home to an entire multiverse of superpowered beings in a stunning, 3D graphical world. Players take on the roles of heroes, villains, vigilantes, and rogues, while both saving and destroying worlds. City of Heroes was known for its groundbreaking level of customization, its highly community-focused features, and its abundant developer-player interaction and feedback. Homecoming: City of Heroes has been in operation since April 2019 with a wide variety of quality-of-life features such as custom XP rates, alignment switching at will, all costume parts available on character creation, all vestiges of the Paragon Store removed, and a new player archetype, Sentinels. On January 2024, Homecoming was licensed as a private server for City of Heroes. Homecoming has five player shards, four testing shards, and the largest community of players today.

This wiki is a fork of the Paragon Wiki, a community effort created and maintained by more than two thousand volunteers since 2005.

Contributing to the Wiki

We welcome any content you're able to add, fill in, or revise, especially to reflect changes from the original game.

Getting familiar with the Article Guidelines and the Help pages prior to contributing makes a big difference in helping a new editor get settled. A lot of wiki syntax assistance can be found in the Help pages.

Don't know where to start? A good place to begin is by editing articles that are designated as stubs, incomplete, or works in progress. These articles need anything from minor tweaks to major overhauls, and anything you have to add would be appreciated! Once you're comfortable, you can take a look at the Wanted Pages, a list of linked-to articles that don't yet exist.
