European Players Denied U.S. Server Access
</div>

Important Note: To clarify, existing European players are still able to access the U.S. Servers.  The following applies to new accounts and account upgrades only.
</div>__NOTOC__ <!-- This removes the table of contents -->

__NOEDITSECTION__ <!-- This removes the section edit links -->
Players with European IP addresses are now unable to purchase game codes for playing on U.S. servers.  As a result, all new purchases of City of Heroes, City of Villains, and premium account upgrade options from NCsoft within Europe are effectively denied for non-European server access.  This action was implemented without any advance warning, other than an announcement that the option to transfer accounts from U.S. servers to to European servers would be disabled, with no warning that new accounts and premium account upgrades would be denied to European players.

The motives behind this decision are subject only to speculation, but a post in the official NCsoft forums offering to facilitate Europeans obtaining codes for playing on U.S. servers was deleted.  Since NCsoft doesn't wish for messages pertaining to such an offer to be posted on their site, I (TonyV) will echo it here:

:If anyone wants to get a U.S. code, drop me a PM or e-mail me at [mailto:tonyv@pcfreepress.com tonyv@pcfreepress.com] and we'll see if we can work out getting you one through PayPal or something. (But that's just a friendly offer; if I start getting hundreds of requests or people don't pay me back, I'll stop.)

If you wish to contact me via forum private message regarding this offer, please do so on the Paragon Forums instead of NCsoft's forums, as I do wish to respect their decision not to have messages of such a subject posted or sent via their forums.

Want to contribute to the Paragon Wiki but don't know where to start?  One good place to start is by editing articles that are designated as Stub articles and Work in Progress articles.  These articles need anything from minor tweaks to major overhauls, and anything you have to add would be appreciated!

If you want to dive into writing some highly needed articles from scratch, check out the list of Wanted Pages.  These are pages that are linked to from other pages but that have no articles associated with them.  They are sorted by the number of links that point to them, so by filling in the articles towards the top of the list, you will be giving the most bang for your temporal buck.

Welcome

Welcome to the Unofficial Homecoming Wiki, a central repository of all things related to Homecoming: City of Heroes, a superhero-themed MMORPG.

City of Heroes is home to an entire multiverse of superpowered beings in a stunning, 3D graphical world. Players take on the roles of heroes, villains, vigilantes, and rogues, while both saving and destroying worlds. City of Heroes was known for its groundbreaking level of customization, its highly community-focused features, and its abundant developer-player interaction and feedback. Homecoming: City of Heroes has been in operation since April 2019 with a wide variety of quality-of-life features such as custom XP rates, alignment switching at will, all costume parts available on character creation, all vestiges of the Paragon Store removed, and a new player archetype, Sentinels. On January 2024, Homecoming was licensed as a private server for City of Heroes. Homecoming has five player shards, four testing shards, and the largest community of players today.

This wiki is a fork of the Paragon Wiki, a community effort created and maintained by more than two thousand volunteers since 2005.

Contributing to the Wiki

We welcome any content you're able to add, fill in, or revise, especially to reflect changes from the original game.

Getting familiar with the Article Guidelines and the Help pages prior to contributing makes a big difference in helping a new editor get settled. A lot of wiki syntax assistance can be found in the Help pages.

Don't know where to start? A good place to begin is by editing articles that are designated as stubs, incomplete, or works in progress. These articles need anything from minor tweaks to major overhauls, and anything you have to add would be appreciated! Once you're comfortable, you can take a look at the Wanted Pages, a list of linked-to articles that don't yet exist.
