New Paragon Wiki Skin in Development!
More information about the Game Client is available here.  You do not need any prior game files or activation codes to play.

"Hey, what happened to the old web site look and feel?" Long story short, we're working with Wikia on developing a new skin for the Paragon Wiki with more features and capabilities. It's called "Moncao," and we're in the process of customizing it. We apologize for any inconvenience during the process, but we promise we'll try to make it painless and cooler as we go along.

Paragon Wiki as a Developer Reference
In a recent Podcast, several developers were interviewed, including Lead Designer Matt "Positron" Miller.  The following quote is from the transcript of the podcast:

: (Interviewer) Stephen Reid: Do you look at the forums...and see what players are anticipating in terms of storylines and then, potentially, changing storylines to accommodate that?

: (Lead Designer) Matt Miller: Sometimes we can't actually remember what we've told players and what's just written in 'The Bible.'  So if we need to alter something or change something, we'll have to actually go to the players knowledge base like Paragon Wiki, where they've pulled everything out of the game, and see, "OK, we haven't told them that" or "we have told them that," "we should really do more with that," because there's just so much information out there it gets difficult at times to remember exactly what we've told the players and what we haven't..."

Be sure to check out the rest of the podcast, and a huge thanks goes out for the efforts of all of our editors and administrators, past, present, and future, for helping to make the Paragon Wiki the awesome resource that it is!

Double XP Weekend
Another Double XP Weekend is upon us! Earn double experience, double prestige, and double influence/infamy all this weekend starting Friday, February 8th and ending at midnight on Sunday, February 10th.

Record Server Population
Lighthouse announced on the official forums last night that the Freedom server, after an extensive upgrade that accommodates more players than ever, had more heroes and villains on it than any time within the last several years.  In fact, it reached its new peak in maximum concurrency, and new logins had to be denied for a short while last night, introducing a new server status possibility: "Full".

As of this morning, all servers are up and well below maximum capacity, but with this entire weekend being a double experience weekend, one or more servers might yet still reach full capacity during peak hours.  On the official forums discussion thread, however, it was noted by many that even when the servers were at maximum capacity, lag problems were practically non-existent.

Congratulations, NCsoft and heroes of the Freedom Server!

NCsoft is placing several items related to its games up for bid on eBay and donating the proceeds to Child's Play, a charity dedicated bringing toys, games, books, and even cash to sick children in hospitals across the country.

Among the items you should check out are a poster signed by the development team, a signed copy of the Collector's Edition of City of Villains, and a really sweet Lord Recluse statue.

If you're also into other NCsoft games, especially a certain game developed by the developer of Ultima fame, be sure to check out the Tabula Rasa items up for sale as well.  Don't just buy the game, buy the game with style.  You could even get an NPC named after you in-game!

Paragon Wiki Move to Wikia Complete
A few months ago, we announced that the Paragon Wiki was going to be hosted by Wikia in the future.  As you can see, that move is now complete!  We still have the same great staff running things, but now we have a much higher level of computing and staff resources dedicated to making sure the Paragon Wiki is up and running well.

Want to contribute to the Paragon Wiki but don't know where to start?  One good place to start is by editing articles that are designated as Stub articles and Work in Progress articles.  These articles need anything from minor tweaks to major overhauls, and anything you have to add would be appreciated!

If you want to dive into writing some highly needed articles from scratch, check out the list of Wanted Pages.  These are pages that are linked to from other pages but that have no articles associated with them.  They are sorted by the number of links that point to them, so by filling in the articles towards the top of the list, you will be giving the most bang for your temporal buck.

Welcome

Welcome to the Unofficial Homecoming Wiki, a central repository of all things related to Homecoming: City of Heroes, a superhero-themed MMORPG.

City of Heroes is home to an entire multiverse of superpowered beings in a stunning, 3D graphical world. Players take on the roles of heroes, villains, vigilantes, and rogues, while both saving and destroying worlds. City of Heroes was known for its groundbreaking level of customization, its highly community-focused features, and its abundant developer-player interaction and feedback. Homecoming: City of Heroes has been in operation since April 2019 with a wide variety of quality-of-life features such as custom XP rates, alignment switching at will, all costume parts available on character creation, all vestiges of the Paragon Store removed, and a new player archetype, Sentinels. On January 2024, Homecoming was licensed as a private server for City of Heroes. Homecoming has five player shards, four testing shards, and the largest community of players today.

This wiki is a fork of the Paragon Wiki, a community effort created and maintained by more than two thousand volunteers since 2005.

Contributing to the Wiki

We welcome any content you're able to add, fill in, or revise, especially to reflect changes from the original game.

Getting familiar with the Article Guidelines and the Help pages prior to contributing makes a big difference in helping a new editor get settled. A lot of wiki syntax assistance can be found in the Help pages.

Don't know where to start? A good place to begin is by editing articles that are designated as stubs, incomplete, or works in progress. These articles need anything from minor tweaks to major overhauls, and anything you have to add would be appreciated! Once you're comfortable, you can take a look at the Wanted Pages, a list of linked-to articles that don't yet exist.
